Personally I don't think we should be looking to League Two for our next buy, I like the sound of Mellon or perhaps follow Pulis' advice and get some upcoming overseas talent. Ross came in on a free from Galatasaray for example.

I don't get the fascination with Mellon. He hardly set League 2 alight last season. If I was picking a player from that division from 25/26 to sign except Kabia, I can't imagine Swindon letting Aaron Drinan go, so I'd've gone for Callum Stead (who Cambridge signed from Barnet at the start of the summer) or Kieran Green (who Grimsby have locked into a new contract). I might be proven wrong but I think the best players from League 2 last season have either been cherry-picked now or are in teams that went up at the end of the season.

You do know Mellon was injured on Boxing Day having scored 7 in 15?

Callum Stead was a good pickup but of his 11 goals 5 were scored in the last game of the season .

I'd disagree re all of the best league 2 players having been sold or gone up.

Apart from Mellon , Kanu , Cavegn , and Forde are in theory available.

I watched York play Crawley at the start of the week and I don't think they'll have as easy a ride as people think. Ollie Pearce got 34 goals last season for York and barely got a touch on Monday night.

I think even York fans are fearing that they may struggle this season after randomly deciding to replace their highly successful manager with an uninspiring journeyman.

You mean like Whittaker Aziz etc? We wouldn't have got promoted without loan players. And we don't have the budget to sign the same quality.

Fair comment. Though I think we got very lucky with Azaz. Whittaker wouldn't have done as well without him.

Was a while ago though. I was thinking more of the likes of Gyabi, Devine and McCabe, who had a lot of game time for what they contributed. Though Ashley Phillips was decent.
