Pretty sure Amaechi was signed post Cleverley arriving. Regardless, I just think we’ve got a lot of attacking players suited to a 4231/433. Players like Watts and Amaechi would probably be starters for the vast majority of other League One clubs but they don’t really have a place in a 442, it’s unfortunate for them.

Yes, Amaechi signed just a few days after Cleverley arrived so we have to assume that deal was well on the way to being sorted before Cleverley took over.
MacKenzie, Watts, Ibrahim and Paterson had all signed when Muslic was still officially our Head Coach or signed when we had no Head Coach.

Hilarious. It was the fantastic ball to put him through that made the chance that you give no credit for.

I didn't meaningly not give credit for the ball, but as usual your own assessment is too swayed toward a simplistic, fingerpointing directive.

Amaechi's run and Ibrahim's ball were harmonious, both players on the same wavelength. To time his run correctly, Amaechi has to anticipate a ball will be played through, and instigate his run accordingly.. likewise for the through-ball to be successful, Ibrahim has to show astute vision to spot Amaechi's run. Both deserve credit.

As for the chance, Amaechi received it effectively while on a diagonal run, at speed, had to straighten himself while controlling the ball, needing a relatively precise first touch, while at the same hold off the defender, and apply a finsih that somehow evades an advancing keeper who is doing well to close down the angle. Not easy, especially given the defender nudges him off balance.

A fine one to be talking about simplicity as someone who won't see any evidence contrary to original opinion I.e. confirmation bias.
So a L1 player had to 'control the ball'! And the keeper was actually nowhere near him.

Gaslighting perchance?

A fine one to talk about confirmation bias! 😂

According to you, missing that chance was 'inexcusable'.

Just setting the record straight.

It's a chance, no doubt. Just much harder than is being made out. And to say the keeper was nowhere near him, and that not scoring it is 'inexcusable', is wildly out and not at all, dare I say, unbiaed.
'Being made out ' by everyone. Except you. The keeper is no position to impact the situation.

Yep. Looks even worse from that angle! How much room does he actually need?

Apart from being manhandled and nudged off balance by the defender, the keeper closing down the space, having to cut in from an angle, having to adjust at speed, it's basically an open goal right?

His miss was ''inexcusable'' according to you.

No-one else's.

Just Amaechi's.

But there's definitely no bias on your part, right?
