There have been two posts, for an Argyle TV feature to take the spot of a matchless weekend. The idea of that being OTT and anti climatic for "the build up" is purely down to wild fan speculation beyond anything actually hinted.
Correct. Anything major is going on the main site to a fanfare in front of a shed load of journalists and not be hidden away to a subscription only fan platform.
Argyle isn't averse to creating clickbait .

Everything argyle media related comes to us by argyle tv now. Doesnโ€™t mean this video is exclusive for argyle tv subscribers. If itโ€™s big it will be for everyone to view not just subscribers. Itโ€™s not the argyle way to keep big things from the majority of the fan base. Very transparent nowadays more than most clubs

There are some incredibly inventive fans within the Green Army that's for sure. Where the idea of investors being announced have come from is beyond me.

I'll be amazed if it's anything more than an Argyle TV feature on Adam Randell, and will likely be the week's offering as the Argyle Podcast. Interviews with the man himself about his journey from Academy to First Team, and those who have helped him achieve that.

There's only been two brief promo posts. The idea of that being labelled as over hype is odd imo. Argyle TV is absolutely excellent value these days with regular and varying features alongside all the match coverage - which in itself has improved ten fold from the old offerings of slightly extended highlights and some post match interview. Too right the club should proudly promote it.
But then why not just say 'we have a live (or whatever) interview with Adam Randell'. People who subscribe would probably want to watch it.

If it isn't something biggish, this could back fire. Hopefully someone reads this and tries to put the cork back in the bottle (if it is indeed something that is not biggish).

I do wish Argyle wouldnโ€™t do this sort of thing unless it is genuinely big news, itโ€™s just sets up people for disappointment.
It absolutely will be an anticlimax. I don't know why they're so cryptic with it. If he's the new captain, it's great news, but hardly justifies the hype they're generating. It'll just be a disappointment imho. Irritating.

Got a feeling the reigns are being put on to him. What more could you want Plymouth lad living most of our dreams. Club captain and deserved every player speaks so highly of him
If he is being made captain, why hasn't he been captain in the last few games? Houghton and Scarr have been ahead in the queue. For a club that likes to think it has continuity in its medium term planning, suddenly making Randell captain isn't a very rational act.

Can someone explain what criteria he fulfils to be captain? It's got to be a bit more than being born in PLymouth and his team mates liking him. It's actually often good to have someone in a leadership position who's not that popular. What are his leadership qualities?

If Adam is to be captain - whilst I like the idea for lots of reasons anyway I think this might also be a financial issue. By giving a young player who came up thru our academy it will surely increase his value for a future saleable asset.

I have to say, whilst I love the idea of Adam receiving the captaincy, the timing wouldn't be right. The difference Joe showed when he came on against Leeds reminded me how important he was with getting us over the line in games last season. Shrewsbury away comes to mind. He was everywhere on the pitch. No throw-in taken slowly etc.

Adam hasn't evidenced that he's got that about him yet. Although I'm sure it's in there somewhere.

I want Adam as the future club captain, but now would be too soon. He hasn't stepped up to the Championship fully, yet, I'm sure he'd admit that.

2 more days to wait and find out what this video is all about...

We've already got a club captain, which is Joe Edwards. When he isn't playing the club seem to have settled on Jordan Houghton as captain on the pitch.

It would be the epitome of stupidity to remove it from him mid-season for no other obvious reason than to generate internet traffic.

With the clip from Stonebridge yesterday, all signs point to it being personnel news and related to the academy
