£750k drainage

I'm a fan of the Grandstand refurbishment.
I don't complain at all about floodlight upgrades or money spent on the pitch.
But when I hand over money to the club I don't really expect £750k (!) to be spent on a drainage system that "will benefit central park as well as Home Park" as reported by the Herald.
What is the board thinking?
Where's that money coming from?
Not impressed at all.

Totally agree we should have told PCC 'we don't want any drainage'.

The article says 'somewhere in the region of a third of a million pounds'. Must have been edited already.

Good to see that amount isn't a surprise to you.

TBF I saw that the Herald had reduced its initial quote.

How much were you expecting the drainage system to be?

If it needs doing then it needs doing. I think the pitch is getting re-turfed as well close season isn’t it? That won’t be cheap. No wander we haven’t a pot to pi$$ in for the playing budget right now.

I'd never heard of drainage being outside the rebuild budget at all. Had you?
And if it was £3/4m is huge considering our playing budget is £3-4m

I love the ‘Argyle fan accountants’, it’s brilliant to witness hahaha

Some think the Club or Hallett are flush, I'm not convinced. This is the first time this info has been mentioned publicly. I'd have expected it to trickle out before now, there's usually a leak or two to dip into. It's easy to pour money into a Project when it's not your penny you're spending.

Agreed it is a huge amount which if put into the playing budget would probably pay for ~ 3 Graham Carey’s..
