Another problem Macey faces, and perhaps one of the reasons he isn’t exactly endearing himself to supporters, is that he doesn’t even seem to be attempting saves from these good shots. On Saturday, as soon as Andrew’s shot beat the wall, Macey seemed to simply accept that it was hitting the net. He’s now failed to dive for shots resulting in goals against Doncaster, Bristol Rovers and twice against Blackpool.

A very interesting observation about Matt Macey not moving towards trying to make a save ( Bristol Rovers (1), Blackpool (2) and Doncaster (1)). I agree. He does seem to get caught ‘flat-footed’.
As a recent example, Chelsea’s keeper could not stop Salah’s goal for Liverpool but at least he made a full despairing dive. Clarke-Harris’s goal for Bristol Rovers was similar to Salah’s but the keeper did not accept it as inevitable.
Cue Balham Green telling me that it was a Premier League keeper.
