Anyone remember it? Or has memories of that much changed part of the world. Rising Sun, Lee Moor tramway etc.?

It was located close to a brook off the Plym, near to where Sainsbury's is now, and was probably swept away with the arrival of the new road in the early 70's.

My connection is going into Eagle House as a kid, for house clearance purposes with my Granddad.

Just can't find anything on the 'net about it.

Any help appreciated.

Can remember The Rising Sun becoming The Roundabout but that was only in 1974.

The Rising Sun was situated on Plymouth Road and was present by the early 19th century. It changed its name to The Roundabout in 1974, closed in 1986, and was demolished in 1988 to make way for the new Marsh Mills flyover and roundabout.

There are some details of Eagle House at Plymouth andWest Devon Records Office but not on line.

Thanks for the information pastiesforlife.

Whether by train or by car, that area has always been the first glimpse of the City for me. The old boat wreck on the Plym, The Antelope, marks the passage of time in its gradual deterioration. Not a lot can be done about that, unlike Lenkiewicz' mural, but that's another story.
