Dolores O'Riordan from the Cranberries, aged 46 years young. Saw them supporting REM at Cardiff Arms Park: they were very good.

Saw the Cranberries back in 1992 before they were famous. They were supporting the House of Love and Mercury Rev. What a sad loss.
Received a shock today when I turned the page to Nooks and Corners in the current issue of Private Eye to find not yet another brilliant critique of some architectural nightmare but a tribute to a recently deceased 'Piloti'. I can thoroughly recommend his book Britain's Lost Cities for a typically astute verdict on our own Plymouth.

Never heard it before, but a couple of times today there was the anecdote when Howard Wilkinson was in charge of the England team and was getting a hard time in a press briefing, so getting pi$$ed off he asked the journalists how many caps they had won. "43, Howard" piped up Jimmy from the back

Saw the Fall about 6/7 years ago, still a great night out. What a man, what an attitude, and what great music stretching back over many years.
