I think I could find an alternative adjective than 'vibrant' to call the old Grandstand. We are close to being of the same vintage and I doubt whether my wife would call me vibrant these days even if I also have seagull poo on my cap!
The idea of a Food / possible entertainment fest area (other than the GTs) out the back is a good one. Something for the casual visitor other than the current offerings for anyone not into that sort of thing.
