Gales and heavy snowstorms in March, 1947.
Argyle 2, Southampton 3 (attendance 24,077) on 1st March, no chance of a game when I was born; next game Argyle 3, Barnsley 2 (attendance only 6,950) on 15th March.

I was born the day after we lost 2 v 1 at Rotherham in 1954.

However, I noticed on (the brilliant) GoS that we played Everton two weeks later and lost 8 V 4 ! That was a surprise to me as I had wrongly believed that only Arsenal and Everton had never been out of the top flight.

So I've learned something today.

Closest match was a 4-5 home defeat to Middlesbrough on the 9th February, 1963. Sounds very entertaining. There'd been games postponed either side of my birthday due to the savage winter we had that year.

Wembley. My first season as a Pilgrim and we played at Wembley. I was only 8 and ludicrously told I wasn't old enough to travel with my 11 year old brother on our own.
