Thanks to the magic of Greens on Screen find out the Argyle match played when you were born or the closest match to your birth date.
Just for fun - choose decade and then season followed by the date on or nearest your birthday ..... GOS

Mine was a 2-1 defeat away to Crystal Palace in September 1964.

Watford 0 Argyle 2 in March 1958. Playing in the third division south at the time. Time to consider bringing back regional leagues ?

I was born in the close season, May 1952. It was a promotion season though! My dad always went misty eyed when he talked about Edds and Dews.

I was born the day after we lost 2 v 1 at Rotherham in 1954.

However, I noticed on (the brilliant) GoS that we played Everton two weeks later and lost 8 V 4 ! That was a surprise to me as I had wrongly believed that only Arsenal and Everton had never been out of the top flight.

So I've learned something today.

Real mixed bag either side of my birthday

08/01/66 5-2 win at home to Rotherham
15/01/66 5-1 loss at Coventry

Guess Cliff Jackson would suggest it was because he was dropped. Mike Bickle scored in both

Continued a bit of a theme for January 66 our other results included another 5-1 defeat at Cardiff and a 6-0 cup win, talk about inconsistent.

Closest match was a 4-5 home defeat to Middlesbrough on the 9th February, 1963. Sounds very entertaining. There'd been games postponed either side of my birthday due to the savage winter we had that year.

There has only been one game actually played on my birthday.

Wembley. My first season as a Pilgrim and we played at Wembley. I was only 8 and ludicrously told I wasn't old enough to travel with my 11 year old brother on our own.
