1-0 Argyle

Argyle open the scoring in the 19th minute with a goal from striker Klaidi Lolos.
Luke Jephcott, who has had a good start to the game on the left for the Pilgrims, puts in a low cross and Lolos fires home powerfully from a central position.
Goalkeeper Ted Smith got a touch on the ball but could not prevent it from ending up in the net.

Immediate response from Southend
Southend reduce the deficit to 2-1 in the 37th minute with a stunning long range strike from midfielder Isaac Hutchinson.
Hutchinson is just inside his own half when he spots Mike Cooper off his line and beats the Argyle ‘keeper, who cannot get back in position quickly enough.

Half-time: Argyle 2 Southend 1
A decent first half that. Two-goal Klaidi Lolos has stood out for Argyle, as has Luke Jephcott, while Southend’s Isaac Hiutchinson will not forget his amazing long-range goal in a hurry.

Top save from Cooper
Isaac Hutchinson has already beaten Argyle ‘keeper Mike Cooper once in this game, but not in the 62nd minute as his powerful shot from the edge of the box is pushed away by Cooper as he dives to his left. It was an excellent stop.

A young squad there. Be nice to see a couple of them make the step up next season and get some 1st team games under their belt.

Really enjoyable game, about right the result, but if any team was going to win it, it was us.
Mike Cooper - Steady, not too much to do. The worldie against him was a worldie!
Tafari Moore - Never really tested defensively, but offered nothing going forward, afraid to go outside to beat a man.
Ryan Law - Quiet day, but ok defensively.
Adam Randell - Ok 1st 70, few silly mistakes, but last 20 really tried to drive him team on
Scott Wootton - Steady stretch of his legs.
Mike Peck - Like Wootton, steady, interesting to see if gets pro contract.
Aaron Goulty - Workmanlike without really causing too many attacking opportunities.
Rio Garside - Real quality performance. Involved in most of the best things. Always got on the ball. Work rate excellent.
Klaidi Lolos - Best I've seen him. Goals were reward for tireless running.
Cameron Sangster - Good to see him back, steady without being spectacular, will massively improve.
Luke Jephcott - Expected more attacking wise.

MOM - Lolos closely followed by Garside :scarf:
