Hello Pasoti peeps and welcome to your 50/50 brief. Unfortunately the lads could not get anything out of the game at Fleetwood so let’s all hope we get back to winning ways against Bristol on Saturday. Come on you Greens

The last week has been pretty manic for the club. I must say the sponsors’ lunch we attended on Thursday was very well organized indeed between PAFC and the Green Taverners. The players and coaching staff mixed well with the supporters as did our Chairman Simon Hallett and all in all it was a great afternoon. The Ladies’ team put up a good performance against Portsmouth last Sunday with honours even, and it was a pleasure helping them with the 50/50 draw all profits made on the day went into their funds.

As usual your 50/50 are always delighted when the prizes get claimed and at the recent game against Portsmouth John Jemmett won the huge cash prize of £979. John kindly sent me a few notes about his win.

John was born in 1947 in St Budeaux and attended his first game at PAFC in 1955 with his grand-dad, who was a season ticket holder, when they sat in the grandstand. In 1957, at the age of ten, the family moved to Surrey due to lack of jobs in Plymouth after the war and he has lived there ever since. In 1968 he married Ruth – a partnership that is still going strong – and they had one son who sadly died in 2011 aged 38. On retirement from the bank he started a one year contract at Kew Gardens and 11 years later is still there. This has enabled him to travel to more games and is now a season ticket holder only missing evening matches. Every home match is a 500 mile journey so over the season this is 15/20,000 miles. John is delighted to have won the largest 50/50 pot this season and is thinking of donating it to a local charity, possibly a special school as his son was handicapped, and a children’s hospice. John joins the rest of the Green Army in hoping to avoid relegation this season and challenging for promotion next season if we can get a better start. Thanks for sharing your memories John from all the team.
