I know many of us are often dismayed by the standard of refereeing at Home Park. I have a tongue in cheek theory, that if a ref has a bad game the referee selection use the horrendous travel to Plymouth and back as a penalty.

Instead of an hour each way they face a 7-8-? hour round trip.

;)

An interesting theory, but I have another slant. I had a client back in the 1980's who was a FL referee. He was at one time a resident in the W Midlands, and told me that when he reffed at Plymouth he always brought his wife down with him and they made a nice weekend of the exercise either staying in Plymouth or Looe!

Literally anywhere is nicer than W Midlands though

I see your West Midlands and raise with Burnley, the archetypal GNS.

Solihull, Bromsgrove, Coleshill? Lovely towns with some fine properties.

I prefer living there to London and its environs any day of the week.

I'd chuck Hull, Middlesborough and Halifax into that pot as well.

All GNS.
