Argyle are 200/1 to reach the playoffs and 80/1 to finish in the top 6.
Can someone explain the difference between the two bets?

I could be wrong - but my understanding would be that, if we finished 1st or 2nd, you'd lose the first 200/1 bet...

But in the second bet's case, you'd win.

Sounds good to me. Thanks for that. Will bet on both.

Simple - the “to reach play offs” bet is on Argyle finishing in either 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th. The “top six” bet is self explanatory. The odds for the latter are shorter because it covers six positions, not four.

Thanks. Odds are counter intuitive imo

If we're going to come back, more likely to finish in positions 3-6 than 1-6 .. and the former is 200/1 compared to 80/1

But i'm sure the bookies know what they're doing

Don't know where you got the 200/1 from but we were 80/1 for both this morning. Top 6 has gone in to 66/1.
I see they still haven't got us listed for promotion (either through the play offs or outright) but Oxford and Gillingham are 200/1.

I think I may have solved it. On Skybet we were 80/1 to finish top six and 80/1 to reach the playoffs. However, we were 200/1 to WIN the playoffs.

Pretty sure Skybet had us 200-1 to make playoffs earlier today. They've changed to 80-1.
Betvictor have us 150-1 to make playoffs. Small wager placed.

It looks like perhaps some money has gone on Plymouth this morning in various locations.

They have come in a bit in most of the longer odds bets.

for example yesterday we were 16/1 to finish in the top 1/2 of the table when I backed it with some money. This morning and I could cash out for more than I put on yesterday because the odds have come in to 12/1.

I am not convinced we can go on the kind of incredible run we did last season but I can see us at least picking up some form over the next couple of games and hopefully if that happens we can continue with the momentum for a bit and at least make it to mid table by the end of the season, the first win a bit of a rub of the green in a few games would be nice a nice start.

One positive indicator....we have 40% more points than after 12 games last season.

I had us in a 4 match acca yesterday, but Boro let me down!

Top half at 16s is a good bet as long as Hallett gets his wallet out. John Terry is available as player manager. Get on the phone Simon
