With all the outgoings plus £125k for Jervis plus the alleged 'unspent budget' from the summer it would appear that the playing investment has actually decreased.

Clearly happy with the current position and no push for the playoffs.

I think in this case it might be because DA has the money to spend and he might choose not to or might not be successful in getting his targets, yet it's used to have a pop at JB.

Because people never seem to listen or understand when the Club or Adams talks about budgets and keep repeating the same nonsense.

For example Adams has said on several occasions that he was given the budget for the year and it is down to him how he spends it.

Starnes at the Fans Forum answered a question about the additional income from previous seasons and listed what it has, is and will be used for.

Agree with the OP. The lack of ambition shown(so far) in this window is all too predictably underwhelming.

I think he probably is happy with a mid table finish and ptobably feels to go up this season is a season too soon with all the building work, lack of facilities and restricted attendances. He has this last week said hasn't he that he wouldn't like to run a championship club because they lose an average 10 million a season. Perhaps he wants to see the refurb through, leave the club in a far better state than he found it and hand the mantle over to someone else prepared to take on the challenge of tier 2 football? What he does or makes out of HHP is then his business. Purely speculating of course.

I get the impression that unless Argyle submit all their receipts to those who wave their pitchforks shouting "Budgets" they will NEVER understand the realities of football club expenditure. We went into administration for not keeping an eye on the pennies, that this board do that should be reason for credit, not derision.

Argyle have some of the biggest home attendances in this league, so the income should be there to compete very strongly with most other League One clubs. Not very many are bankrolled by rich owners. Yet Argyle seem to rely exclusively on loanees, free transfers and released players. They dont seem to pay transfer fees either. Not necessarily a bad thing, but Adams has complained about the playing budget in the Herald before and its legitimate to raise questions about this.
