Another brick in the pond of a Democratic Brexit, this is based on total contributions of nation states to the economy and security of Europe. Due to the way these figs are compulated they need to be regarded as Ball Park, however they provide some insight into the pecking order within the EU. Now before anybody comments that the EU and Nato are two distinctively separate identities, their wrong as a trading block will only survive if it can defend its borders, therefore I have amalgamated both sets of figures to arrive at my conclusion.
UK; Nato 55,237M EU 12,769M Total 68,000M USD
Germany Nato 45,427M EU 22,281M Total 66,372M
France Nato 45927M EU 20,445M Total 66,372M
Given the fluctuations in exchange rates, accounting procedures and political skulduggery, all three countries are equal.
Not sure if UKs Nuclear deterrent is included in figs
Conclusions: The UK (if REMAIN) has enough clout to led a revision of the EU working procedures to address some of the concerns of the Brexit supporters, regarding immigration, representation and border security etc.
