No, many didn't. When his name cropped up on here pre-season as a potential loan target the concensus was "Don't need him, we already have better" if I recall correctly.

I didn’t think we needed him in a defensive midfield role as I was not impressed with his defensive qualities. I thought that this was apparent in the Mansfield home game before half time, in particular.
I hope that he thrives at Bristol City.

“He did not complete a successful tackle though, so room to improve”. Bristol Post.

Just goes to show that yet again real managers know quite a bit more than those lazing in armchairs!

I agree ,was prone to giving the ball away on too many occasions.
