Just looked at the picture on the Beeb footy site and had a damn good laugh at the banner some Celtic 'fans' held up saying Rogers had 'swapped immortality for mediocrity' by joining Leicester  This from a club that competes in a Mickey Mouse league with no serious competition and which is hardly ever able to get further than the 1st round of the Champios League (or Europa Laegue, come to that). Pots and kettles! :shh:

II think they have a point. Celtic are a massive club, there's no denying that - probably bigger than any English club bar Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal. It's just an accident of history and politics that they and Rangers have ended up as big fishes in a very small pond. If there had been a combined British league, they'd probably be one of Europe's most successful clubs.

Rodgers could have joined a top end championship club and it would probably still show more ambition than remaining at Celtic, which for a good manager is one of the safest jobs in football.

Good on Rodgers, has won all there is to win at Celtic, wants more of a challenge, as well as a bigger budget in a better league and that's what he'll get at Leicester.

The only reason Leicester will have a bigger budget is SKY TV money into the PL. Celtic's gates are on average 25,000 greater per home game than Leicester. Celtic's first team squad numbered 37 players, which is probably greater than Leicester's.

Of course, but as you've basically just said big attendances don't equal big budgets in modern day football. Rodgers is without doubt moving to a smaller club, but he is also without doubt moving to a club with a better team, in a better league.
