It may just be me but I'm getting an annoying column of dots in the left-hand side of the page which is pushing the reading material down the page so that I have to scroll down on every page.

You need to clear your cache and it will sort it.

I’m just working out how to do it on an iPhone.

What you see now is roughly what you'll get in future.

We've signed up for with an advertising company to bring some extra revenue to the site.

There are no pop ups though, so nothing should intrude onto the forum pages themselves.

I am in contact with our hosting company about the iPhone issue.

My thought is it's been caused by the Christmas lights we added on Thursday, if that's the case, we will simply remove them.

Should be sorted by Monday afternoon.

I can understand why you're doing this Ian.

For me though, it has made visiting the site less enjoyable and my visits have dropped off. I guess you're monitoring how the new adverts are affecting visitors to the site.

I agree but I think the Adverts are worth it.

Probably, time will tell. But the ads are too much for me on my pc, not too bad on my phone. Just a bit of feedback really....

Not sure if this is related to the ads but there seems to be a massive gap at the top of the site on a desktop browser before the forum section starts now?

You have to clear your cache DiG, that will a) Sort that out and B) You will then have a set of Christmas lights.

Thanks for the feedback guys, it REALLY is helpful.

We are now finished adding adverts, the side ones will stay, the top ones have been sorted so the site doesn't judder any more. The top skin is fooled into thinking it's a single size banner when there are in fact two sizes, clever eh?

Sadly, the bottom floater, is the one that really pays the bills and gives us 47% of the monthly revenue, so
it'll be staying.

Thanks for your understanding, we've balanced it so we're nothing like those stupid things on the Herald.

We're still investigating new sites, which will mean added 'nice things', but more about that in 2019.
