Andrew & Simon will be in the Directors Box alongside a man who deployed his helicopter in a clandestine operation whilst 2 of our charges were in hospital

No he didn't. SH has said Stoke approached us before the QPR away game and he asked them to wait. They waited 2 games. Yes it was on a Satyrday evening but they had approached Argyle earlier in the week.

Also, SS is not a doctor. Yes we had 2 players in hospital but there was nothing SS could do about that and he was back in Plymouth within 24 hours anyway.

No, never go back. No matter how good the fit was at the time, it was obvious he wanted to fledge the nest, whether that was money or location (more family time) only he really knows. Expectation levels would be too high, would be destined to failure. I can’t ever imagine a scenario this opportunity would present itself anyway, but if it did, I like to think we wouldn’t go down that road again, any success and we’d just be waiting for the next premier league vacancy being linked to him

I love Schumacher as I said earlier in the thread, well I did but managers going back rarely works so it’s a non starter on that basis alone for me. And as many others have said he wouldn’t be at all welcome anyway as far as I’m concerned, but each to their own.

There is as much chance this happening as me single handedly brokering peace in the Middle East. Just sayin’

Anyway back on topic, I cannot WAIT to see those pre match handshakes….

So he wouldn't be taking a pay cut?
He left us for more money, didn't he?

If he ever considered returning then he would need to take a cut in salary. He would know that.

I cannot see Simon wanting his return anyway. He not only left us at the worst possible time, but he took all his backroom staff, our fitness coach, a player, and gave us no thought in his endeavour to climb the managerial ladder.

From a personal level, Simon had considered him a friend, as well as an employee and was not impressed with the way that he left us. Trust had been shattered.

I see no reason why we should assist him in his demise, should he be sacked at the end of the season.

His football was exciting, but that was not only down to his tactics, but down to our players abilities. He has not been able to replicate these things with a far better squad of players at his disposal (if you think money buys better players). However, there were drawbacks, and there was no certainty that we would have been in a better league position than we are now, had he stayed.

At the end of the day Schumacher is worse than Lowe for what he has done. The trouble is players and managers are mercenaries chasing the highest buck, which is understandable cause of the short career, the only constant is us the Green Army, just a pity some of them didn't show some loyalty at times.

I'd say they'd be even more determined taking into account the manner of his departure & him stating that he wanted to leave before he might have got the sack in the future (implying the current group of players might not be good enough).
He left Argyle at one of the worst parts of the season , resulting in them teetering on the brink of relegation ( he must have known the disruption that leaving at Christmas would cause). He went for an interview while two of his players were in hospital. Apparently, he'd been interviewed for the Swansea job before but kept pledging his allegiance to Simon Hallett's 5 year plan.
Do I hate him ? Of course not.
Am I going to boo him ? Damn right I am 😃
I understand and hope that the professionalism is strong which I expect it to be.
I would question some players, as an instance Miller who has already said he was off before he became injured. Had that not happened and had/ has Schumacher been a bit naughty and promising players a transfer to Stoke? I don’t know but I do believe he was in contact with Whittaker after he went back to Swansea.
That’s where my concerns lay.

Genuinely, you know what being sacked entails don't you?

They won't be paying him! 🫥

So he'll be in no money. So whatever PAFC would pay him would be an increase wouldn't it?

By the way, not for me. Once a 🐍 always a 🐍.

I see what you mean, Ian, doh, although he will get a pay-off from Stoke.

Whether another club comes in for him would be dependant on where Stoke end up before he gets sacked.

All a bit 'up in the air' at the moment.

Maybe a div 1 club would be pleased to take a chance on him.
