If someone can think of some imaginative lyrics I think Go West by the pet shop boys could be good for us

My starter is Go West where the Argyle play !

I have little imagination as you can see !!
Please no. I'd rather stick to Sweet Caroline than that I think!

I was thinking of The End by the Doors, perhaps the last couple of verses but maybe that wouldn't suite the many gentle folk who attend Home Park ... So a Walk in the Black Forest will have to do it for me

A Walk in the Black Forest gets my vote too. At least at some point after the game even if something more celebratory is played first. It's familiar and is imbedded in Argyle tradition. Sweet Caroline is played everywhere and feels too generic. Having said that I'd happily listen to Mr Blobby every week if it meant we were winning!

I've tried to think of a song that most people know the tune of and can sing pretty easily. One that came to mind was 'Let It Be'. Obviously the words need adapting and perhaps my first quick attempt below is more suitable for singing after a defeat than after a victory...

When I find myself in times of trouble
Plymouth Argyle calls to me
Sing aloud Green Army
Keep it Green

And in my hour of darkness
Always Home Park is the place to be
Sing aloud Green Army
Keep it Green

Keep it Green
Keep it Green
Keep it Green
Keep it Green
Sing aloud Green Army
Keep it Green

agree with the op that it's a bit plastic and identikit to pick Sweet Caroline like every other sporting event.

OTOH you need something anthemic with a catchy chorus that everyone can sing along to, so it has to be a fairly middle of the road choice, whatever they play.

Thinking off the top of my head 'Itchycoo Park' by the Small Faces ('it's all too beautiful...') would have a similar effect while being (a bit) more original, but I bet there's someone else already using it.

There are probably others that fit the criteria too, but again, if it's a well-known singable tune there's a good chance we'll be inadvertently copying another club
