I think he’s more of a holding CM

I think Randell could competitively compete for a CM position. He needs to build up his body strength but he certainly has the composure and technical ability to play in the middle.

He’s my player to watch for for next season. I think he’s the next money maker after Cooper.
Also I think the new 5 sub rules is important here. I can see changes being 2 x strikers, 2 x midfielders and a wing back putting in a hard 60 to 70 mins shift and then bring on the same quality with fresh legs for final 20 or 30 mins. Quality in depth is going to be key this season.

What rubbish this is!! A match is 90 mins NOT 50 or 60 then a change of personnel! There probably are even more changes that dilute a football match and I expect someone will think of them soon!

I'm not keen on the idea of 5 subs either but Koala's suggesting that we use the system that this allows. That makes sense to me.

A lot of goals are scored in last few minutes when teams tire. With half the team subbed potentially that likelihood will be reduced. Has it been explained anywhere why this change was necessary? Subs are often made merely as a time wasting measure.

As always, Balham, it has come down from the Premiership!

I wonder if there are any more permanent signings in the pipeline?
We still are light upfront and proven goalscorers don’t come cheap.

I think it further emphasises just how much of a squad game it is now.

It's also worth remembering that it's not 5 individual subs either, which really would be open to abuse in the last 10 minutes of a game.

I'm not in to all this Plan A / Plan B nonsense, football is not that simple. But it's another challenge for the Managers as to how to best utilise the whole squad over the 90 minutes.

You can change players on three occasions during the match, but this can total five players. Half time is additional to those three.
