Ha
You made a statement as fact about Brexit I.e it had nothing to do with rising prices which is nonsense.
Additional security increases safety really does not need evidence does it? You are just being silly.
If it costs more, ticket prices need to be increased for those high risk games which are often sold out anyway. The clubs have a responsibility and need to step up.
Have a stab then, how many stewards do you think we’ll need to stop a pitch invasion with a 10k crowd?

Stewards earn roughly £10 an hour, well that’s what I get at Stevenage FC on match day. Probably more at Premiership games as Stevenage get about 3000 at their games so hugely lower. I’ve been involved in crowd management for over 40 years and my experience is that if fans want to invade the pitch from all sides despite police and stewards being present than they’ll do it. Even having the pitch perimeter covered by security, which financially you couldn’t do and nor would clubs have the workforce to do, it wouldn’t stop the invasion.
Thanks Welwyn. Someone with some actual knowledge.

What hours would you work? 11am - 7pm on a Saturday?

Omg. What do you think they earn? Just check on Indeed. Its not rocket science. If you really think the neanderthals will stop and think about a points deduction before assaulting something you are misguided
I refer you to Welwyn Pilgrim's post below.

You might like to ask Welwyn if he is a rocket scientist!

You really don't get it do you?
I don't know the answer. The point is for high profile games security needs to be significantly increased. I am very surprised that is so difficult to understand and accept.

Stewards start at 1pm at Stevenage for a Saturday game and finish once the ground is empty and sweep done so about 5.15pm. That’s with just over 3000 spectators…

Sweep being a check of the ground for any property left, unattended packages or broken seats.

Don't agree Welwyn. It would be possible and has shown to be. How many got on the pitch for fa cup final or Europa Cup Final? I agree stewards can't do it by themselves. I assume Stevenage don't have many pitch invasions?!

So how do you know that it’s a viable answer? You don’t, and to coin a phrase, you’re just making it up.

Thanks. That makes sense.

I should have made myself a wee bit clearer with the times...I get it for Stevenage but can't quite see the security detail turning up at 1pm at some of the larger venues...even Argyle for some games where the gates are open at 12.30.

Well if you cant see that extra security will lead to increased safety I give up. Its obvious to most rational thinking people. Yes it will cost more. The Premier league can easily afford it and ticket prices need to be increased for high profile games elsewhere. You may not like it but that is the obvious and only solution.
Saying come on chaps(who are coked up/drunk) you must not do that, it's very naughty and the team will lose points, I completely unrealistic.

Rational thinking people? The obvious and only solution? Grow up. I ask a simple question and you wade in with your sarcastic answers, no wonder people get the hump with your attitude.

Nor did Port Vale, Huddersfield or even Man City did until the last week or so. I’m sure if Stevenage had made the play off final or won the league at their last home game their supporters would’ve h gone on the pitch and if they had well apart from the threat of legal action from the club it’s unlikely we could’ve stopped them.

No you weren't. You were being difficult just for the sake of it. You asked a question then answered it yourself. Then became abusive. Look at yourself first.
It is completely ridiculous to try to argue that increased security will not improve the situation.

That's why I said extra security should be for high profile games and agreed the stewards would not have stopped the invasion nor the threats of legal action. Stewards are there to check tickets, provide info, etc not deal with serious violence/disorder. They don't have the training, skills or equipment.

Bulls4!t. I asked you how many stewards are required, which is quite a reasonable question, and you came back with a sarcastic “You have mistaken me for a crowd management expert.” I’m not arguing that extra security will not improve safety, but to stop this happening completely will require levels of stewarding which are not economically viable.
