You seriously think these morons are thinking about point deductions? We are not talking about EVERY game. There are not pitch invasions every game are there? If it costs it costs. The clubs have a responsibility.
How many security staff will be needed to stop a pitch invasion?

What are the footballing authorities left with- Fines, Points deductions, Games behind closed doors
Clubs issuing banning orders
Will that deter people misbehaving probably not- what we have witnessed over the last couple of weeks is totally shameful

You have mistaken me for a crowd management expert. The answer is a hell of a lot more than currently where clubs are trying to get by using minimum wage stewards.
Iā€™m not mistaking you for a crowd management expert, I just thought you might have done some scientific research into it and got some evidence to back up your idea.

If you watched the pitch invasion at Man City it looked liked a group of stewards were assigned to each player so that on the final whistle these steward ran to their designated player and escorted him off the pitch to a area surrounded by police.
So it looks like Man City took additional steps to protect players and had anticipated a pitch invasion.

So are you telling me you need evidence to prove that additional security will lead to improved safety? Are you suggesting it may not?

You often call for evidence for others to back up their statements so I assumed that you would be playing by your own rules, it appears I assumed wrong. I feel that the amount of additional security would be so costly that it would be unworkable, which is why I asked what numbers of extra security youā€™d suggest. If the extra security made it so a game was played at a loss, then behind closed doors would be a better option.

And you know that, for a fact, how?

You claim not to be a crowd management expert and yet you claim you know what they are paid.

How about the responsibility of the individual? Or are the neanderthals excused because they are displaying passion?

Always someone else's fault isn't it?

Yes it's very well known what stewards earn. Do you seriously think they are well paid? And no you really do not need to be a crowd management expert to know that!

Who said they were being excused or it's someone else's fault? You have completely missed the point! I.e. that the neanderthals cannot be relied upon to behave so other actions need to be put in place.

You made a statement as fact about Brexit I.e it had nothing to do with rising prices which is nonsense.
Additional security increases safety really does not need evidence does it? You are just being silly.
If it costs more, ticket prices need to be increased for those high risk games which are often sold out anyway. The clubs have a responsibility and need to step up.

Omg. What do you think they earn? Just check on Indeed. Its not rocket science. If you really think the neanderthals will stop and think about a points deduction before assaulting something you are misguided

Stewards earn roughly Ā£10 an hour, well thatā€™s what I get at Stevenage FC on match day. Probably more at Premiership games as Stevenage get about 3000 at their games so hugely lower. Iā€™ve been involved in crowd management for over 40 years and my experience is that if fans want to invade the pitch from all sides despite police and stewards being present than theyā€™ll do it. Even having the pitch perimeter covered by security, which financially you couldnā€™t do and nor would clubs have the workforce to do, it wouldnā€™t stop the invasion.
