He has great energy, presence and skills. But he isn't that quick and he doesn't score many goals. Joe or Connor would score more goals than Pan from centre midfield. I'm not saying they would necessarily be more effective in terms of retention or retrieval, but I'd fancy either of them to score more goals than Pan. If we sold Pan and signed two decent wing backs, i think Connor and Joe would offer enough in midfield to make the overall deal a step forward.

Pan isn't quick???? You've been watching a different player to me. He breezes past players with ease imo with that long fluid stride of his..

Also consider his background, I'd guess he has a lot of family in Africa who he could really help by earning better money. I obviously don't know the bloke but he doesn't strike me as the kind to blow all his money on cars, booze and women.

Well then it`s a no brainer if as we all "know" location is the be and end all of acquiring players then we are definitely the nearest club to Africa. Sorted. :devilish:

Although the club statement comes across as brutal and final I wonder if there's a chance that Camara and his agent will reconsider?
They may not be getting the offers they want knowing full well what Argyle have offered.
I suppose Camara has had five months of thinking time and will not change his mind.

On the flip side has the damage been done and even if Camara has changed his mind the club have moved on and already found a replacement?

If you give Ennis 3 guaranteed months to show how good he can be, you surely have to do the same with others on the fringes - Randell, Law, arguably even Burton. 3 months in the team could give confidence, but can also bring complacency.

There needs to be competition for all places. The difficulty is as to how a player competes for a place when not in the team. A couple of reserve team hat tricks might show that Ennis, for example, is ready to start, but we have no serious competitive football for those just outside the first team - something that is hurting us in several ways.

Totally agree. That's the big thing Argyle are missing - competitive football between the u18/academy players and the 1st team. Those players that fall between this just don't have regular competitive matches to play in imo. It's like say we had a 1st team player out injured for 2-3 months.. where is the competitive game for them to get up to full match fitness before they get back into the 1st team squad?

I think the club have this policy wrong.

Arguably our best outfield player, very hard to replace for pocket money. He clearly likes playing for the club so I don't buy the argument that he won't give his all. Do we now accept a lowball bid?

It makes it very difficult to extract good value from a transfer fee now we've made a public statement.

Feels very naive.
He’s been offered a contract and not signed. Disappointing but hardly naïve! His agent has probably been looking for a larger slice!

not been the same player in the second half of the season since he went to the africa cup of nations.

presumably since he has made his international debut he has opened his mind to greater things and could play anywhere in europe, especially if country team mates are all over the place.

will be sad to see him go but all players come and go, that's part of football be they bad, good or just average. on his day camara has been very good but too many games he has failed to influence since jan. also too few goals for an attacking midfielder. In comparison to a steve castle or david Friio he is rank average.

plenty of replacements out there.

Why would we want Broom back when Schuey kept him on the bench for the second half of the season. Makes no sense.

Broom is a decent player. But you can’t have Broom, Mayor and Houghton in midfield. Teams will run through us.

Just a point regarding Sarcevic. I think he was a good player. But l found once he got injured it took him a number of games to get up to speed again.

It wasn’t as good as Camara though, in my opinion.

Agree with that MGM has said.

Our midfield was weak when it came to the top 6 asking questions. Broom and DM10 together isn't the answer if we want to improve.

Also agree that Sarcs always needed 2 or 3 games to get up to speed after an injury or suspension🤣.

I was more gutted when Sarcs left tbh and we need to find a younger fitter version of him to bully the midfield, go box to box and know where the goal is.

Oh and I'm.not dissing Pans for one moment, he was brilliant but this midfield 3 or 5(however you look at it) fell short.

Because we need players for the bench? Other than kids?

If Posh want him then it's £1m or £900k + Broom. Also want a percentage of Pan's next fee.

Anything less than £1m for Pan is not worth it, rather keep him for another year.
Wont get anywhere near 1million also pan holds all the cards because he may not want to sign for the largest bidder for instance a club comes in where he is a squad player but say PNE come in and offer first team football. I personally think Lowe has tapped Pan up since January he knows the contract details
