My only concern is the fact that we are going to make money out of the advertising.

I do hope that it doesn't get like this site (without registering) or Plymouth Live (without an adblocker).

Guess we will have to wait and see how much the advertising interferes with the entertainment.

We've made it clear several times that the adverts are necessary to allow Pasoti to function but also to enable donations to the youth Academy and Women's team and other good causes.
We've kept the adverts to a minimum for registered members.

Why do you want a big screen, what adverts do you want to see, or do you want to be featured on the kiss cam?

Two examples off the top of my head, aside from ad revenueā€¦ 1) I think Argyle TV is a great product and Iā€™d like to watch the pre-match build up and half time interviews etc when Iā€™m at the ground as well as when Iā€™m at home.

2) replays of (Argyle) goals, if thatā€™s allowed?

3) not something Iā€™m fussed about, but it simply makes the ground more modern and more exciting, especially to kids and families. I agree that kiss-cam is an abomination though.

The 30 quid extra weā€™re paying for seasons tickets arenā€™t for team budget theyā€™re to pay for the seats weā€™ve Lost for the screen, good cover up though
Not happy don't pay it.. no one is holding a gun to your head forcing you to. So much negativity over something the majority of club supporters think Home Park should have. Dammed if they do dammed if they don't..

Jake is known for his wayward posts. We removed quite a few.

You can see by the Official Argyle's reaction what they think of that comment.

Why do you want a big screen, what adverts do you want to see, or do you want to be featured on the kiss cam?

I go to several grounds with screens including Wembley and canā€™t say I ever bother looking at them as they donā€™t perform any useful function that a clock wouldnā€™t do.
I think you answered your own question there. People who don't want to look at it don't have to look at it. Just like you do

Only Argyle would wipe out X amount of seats for a poxy screen, this is all about advertising and nothing to do with fans....surely someone has got the brains to put it somewhere else.
Surely all clubs with a similar board have done that?

Iā€™m surprised that the club didnā€™t prioritise the grandstand seating problem over this screen. While a screen may look nice, I donā€™t think many fans were actively calling for it. People are more interested in looking at the pitch rather than watching telly!

It also looks like capacity of the ground will be further reduced to accommodate the thing. There are already heaps of seats that canā€™t be used due to crowd segregation and other issues- do we really want any more space taken up?

I see the screen as a luxury item which could have been added once the rest of the ground has been sorted.

No criticism intended for you, Ian, or pasoti. I was just thinking of how the profit on advertising on the screen would be made. I hope that the advertising doesn't overtake the entertainment and put people off it.

I donā€™t see how this can be used for things like Argyle TV interviews etc where sound is needed. Itā€™d surely be impossible to have a clear sound feed that correctly syncs with the moving image across the whole of the stadium.

For me, avoiding this sort creeping and excessive commercialisation has been one of the benefits of supporting Argyle for the last decade or so.
I accept that it had to happen, like shirt sponsorship, but I don't welcome it. Having advertising commercials played at deafening volume before games isn't a pleasure. It won't enhance the match day experience for me. Ground naming rights will be the next stop on the mission to try and finance the costs of the Club being competitive.

The club have explained at length why they were unable to tackle the legroom problem this close season.

I think Simon Hallettā€™s last missive covered it.

I also think Andrew Parkinson covered it.
