Just had a letter arrive telling me I've scooped £100. Where's the fainting smiley when I need it?
“You had to be in it to win it“.
The new system of weekly £100, £50 and 5 x £10 prizes seems to be creating more interest.
At least, there are 7 winners every week.

I got the distinct impression from what Andrew Parkinson (I think it was) on the Financial Fan Forum that big changes are coming.

It wouldn’t amaze me if this comes in house soon.

The BGL is an absolute farce, the winner last year has still not been paid in full.

Not a great look for the club this is it? Especially as it’s been raised at the very top in the last few months.

It’s very poor indeed. When I won it several years back I had to chase them from time to time. Got the lot eventually, but this time it’s worse.

So the prize is paid in installments?

The Twitter account for the BGL hasn't been used for two years which doesn't reflect well on the club especially when all the other club Twitter accounts are very active.

Yes, the payment is paid once a mont for 12 months, although I think this has changed to a lump sum for the latest winner.

Yep, and there's also the sneaking suspicion from a few of us that we've been left out in the first place. From signing up and winning a tenner a couple of times in the first few weeks, to then being told there was a payment issue and to enter new details, since which I've not won anything, seen my name at all or received any correspondence in the 6+ years since (but money is still coming out of my account).

Not why I do it, and I really don't care about winning prizes as much as supporting the Academy, but it doesn't give you the greatest confidence in how it's run.

The club needs to take this indoors.

Although I would say, when I win the £10k it was in my bank account with seven days.

I think it soooooo wrong to not pay an OAP on time thus forcing his family to chase.

Not the best PR is it?

That's exactly my experience as well, a couple of £10s years ago and nothing since but like you said it's supporting the Academy.

I was lucky enough to win the £12000 a few years ago, I had to chase to get my monthly cheque on a number of occasions. I haven't won on the BGL since, again l am fully supportive of youth players having sponsored players in the Milk cup on various occasions. But I do find it strange that I have never won even a tenner since.:)
