Mr Hallett has said that the scoreboard will be a profit making tool through advertising. The initial payment for the board would have to come from the Club, but would be repaid in a short period of time and would then generate profit for the Club.

In what format the scoreboard would be, depends on how much the Club want to spend on purchasing it, I assume.

No doubt there will have been research into what other clubs have and what our requirements would be.

Yes I'd imagine we are one of very few. And I'm not sure why people are so against it. We hd one in the late eighties and it is now the 21st century so why would we not have one now. I'd imagine the cost of running it would be paid for by sponsors advertised on it.
We also had Concord flying in the 80's 😉

There was one evening game a few years ago, when Argyle decided to have electronic flashing advertising boards along the Lyndhurst. From the Grandstand it was horrendous, the players were just black shapes, and all the flashing lights gave me a headache. Thankfully after alot of "turn them off" being shouted throughout the Grandstand, they were turned off and never appeared again. Though a scoreboard as its uses, such as showing the lineup's before the game and the score, scorers and time left. Showing adverts throughout the game would be very distracting for supporters looking directly at it AND the players, especially when corners are taking, IF it was placed in Bobby's Garden

I thought it was something to do with the salty sea air why we don’t have one. I didn’t think they were allowed to show replays on them either incase it undermined the ref?

Perhaps a manual score board where you hang numbers off would be better, I believe there was one years ago in the BP/Mayflower corner. Probably cheaper and a lot less distracting too.

You HAVE to have electronic advertising boards in the top two leagues, though. So we could have them again next season!

Those ones we had weren’t the best though, to be fair.

Team lists, time remaining, adverts at HT, text in your messages etc, replays of goals / chances..... I think it's a great idea and would surely pay for itself if promoted correctly

Cheltenham one was smart today, I imagine we’re looking at similar.

That sited in Bobby's Garden would be good and depending on sight blockage from the seats one hanging from the roof of Zoo Corner.

Yep agree with that. Two scoreboards in both those corners.

For me the main benefit would be to see the team line ups and player numbers.

Perhaps Erin's pre match stuff on Argyle World could be broadcast on them too.

Replays of goals just after they have been scored and at half time would be an additional bonus.
