If you want to fight, why not join a boxing gym? Plenty of them in Plymouth. Don't get yourself a criminal record and banning order. Not enough discipline?
Having said that, as per that Hibs video a lot of it is just bouncing around in the right 'clobber'...until they find someone like Simon Dobbin and end his life.

I was bought up on a sink council estate in East London, I attended Upton Park throughout the early 70's during the height of the hooligan era and I have fought in two wars. I am proud of my working class roots yet I have never ever felt the need to punch somebody at a football match. Obviously I am not working class enough!
This comment makes me laugh...your talking rubbish...no one said every working class person likes to fight ?? yoiur just turning it to a stupid statement about your life....my point was and is....the people that get involved in this are generally working class...and they will always be there....moaning like an old fart will never do anything....the only way you stop it is to prevent it....which Argyle did poorly....and its no good saying " we don't want it at Argyle" your deluded to think its gone anywhere....you can only contain it or prevent it.....just because you don't like a punch up ...plenty of people do.....and no that isn't me... but I'm sensible enough to not wet myself over it.

Out of interest, what do you think Argyle should be doing to prevent it and/or what measures would you like to see put in place to prevent a repeat occurrence?

It is my opinion. You along with the rest of the ‘No surrender’ club who think it is acceptable may not agree and I may well be deluded but it is my opinion to which I am entitled and at least I can spell.

it'll never ever go away....fact...Argyle needed to do more with stewarding ....I guarantee if there were 4 or 5 police on that row....nothing would have happened...these days hooliganism is far and few between ...be thankful for that...but it is very opportunist and if you let your guard down on the wrong day ...they will take advantage....like against Wigan

Okay… Is it important that there’s a police presence rather than stewards? Obviously there’s an additional cost involved with both so I guess everyone will have to pay a bit extra to meet that cost or else the club could divert finances from some other area. It’s a pity if that is the solution though because I am sure there are other things that the police could be doing with their resources.

I do find it a bit odd that a bunch of people might be able to manage to control their behaviour if there are 4 or 5 police personnel sitting near them in the ground and not need to respond to the provocation of opposition fans spilling over onto the pitch when they celebrate a goal and someone lighting a blue smoke canister but can’t control themselves otherwise.

Your guess that football hooliganism will be with us for the rest of eternity isn’t a fact.

Lostwithiel, Capital of Cornwall.
They might not be thick, wicked or unintelligent, but they are bellends.
Some were not very clever because the Wigan fans near the back of the stand had moved some of the netting from the "sterile" area. And yet they tried to attack them at the bottom with their protective netting force shield to keep them apart from any real harm. (obviously didn't see the Bristol Rovers Net Climbing champions from a few seasons ago). Apart from the gent in his trench coat and his 2 mates who walked up to the back of the stand to easily wade into the Wigan lads.

And my original response was to the poster that suggested that football violence is a working class trait and when challanged by two posters told them they would be no good in a war. You took my response ( which many people agreed with ) totally out of context to suit your own apologist stance. I stand by my remarks and the further ones I made on this subject. And I do believe it was you that started the personal attacks with the ‘old fart’ and ‘wet myself’ .
