Settle down now, you two boys. You are getting over excited for a Monday afternoon!
Well, what’s not to like about being gently told off by a BGL😀

Love him or loathe him but the piece that Boris wrote in the Telegraph back in 2012 - 20 reasons to love the Olympic Games, summed the situation up perfectly and poetically:-

'As I write these words there are semi-naked women playing beach volleyball in the middle of the Horse Guards Parade immortalised by Canaletto. They are glistening like wet otters and the water is splashing off the brims of the spectators' sou'westers. The whole thing is magnificent and bonkers'.

Give it another twenty years or so and things might be different. In the meantime, it annoys the hell out of me, that in this morning's Daily Telegraph, quite possibly also the Times and (almost certainly) the Grundian, there were match reports on all the WSL games, but none on Argyle's or Wednesday's matches.
They're ticking a box, simple as that. No media organisation will dare leave itself open to accusations of inequality in this day and age.

I don’t think women players should be used as pundits for men’s matches.
if Ryan Lowe was used as a pundit for a Liverpool match , you could argue that he’s never played at that level so he can’t really comment. The same goes for women pundits whether they’ve played for England or not. It’s not at the same level.
PASOTI would have to shut down if people could only critique if they had played at that level. The "Rate the Referee" page would have to go for starters. :cautious:

I really like women football commentators and colour commentators. They are more likely to do their research, explain things well in plain English and less likely to spout about things being better in their day.

Well as a lady apparently i should know diddly squat about football- back in the dark ages i found it rather amusing that when i attended matches i was told i was only there to look at the players legs & knew nothing about the game (absolutely outrageous)

Time has moved on- fans have their options & preferences

I dont care about the gender of the commentator so long as they are knowledgeable & thorough in their research -there should not be an issue
