My first ever visit since refurbishment. Had s drink in the ground floor of the Taverners. What a facility. No queue, plenty of friendly staff and reasonable prices Peoe on the door SO friendly. Went to the tent en route to Lower Mayflower. Again, faultless. Then the view from row B in block E. Brilliant first half but second half Argyle staff an 4th official restricted view of Devonport goal. But overall, what a great experience.
Were you iin disguise, I was in the ground floor of the GT.

Funny story from the tiny queue for the Lyndhurst opposite the steps when I went in at 2.20pm.

Steward waves his wand at me and lets me go to the turnstile.

Asks woman behind me if she minds being scanned.

'You go right ahead my love, I’m ready and willing' she says.

I turn around to her, laughing and say 'That was a bit over enthusiastic'. She laughed and said, ‘That’s better than what my husband just said. He to!d the steward I normally charge for that sort of thing'.

True story from the misery of the Lyndhurst nightmare queue 😎

There are some justified complaints on the thread about the supposedly sold out Lower Mayflower, when it was clear to those of us in the Lyndhurst that there were hundreds of empty seats. Might be good if the club clarified their position on segregation etc which seems to me to just cost the club money. The club needs to be maximising the opportunities arising out of the current position in the table.

People ringing the ticket office for tickets in the Lower Mayflower, being told it’s sold out and then seeing footage of several hundred empty seats, might not bother in future. Ditto the situation in the BPE when bigger sides come down.

it can be a pain in the arse but they are future supporters and maybe the parents have no choice but to take them no babysitter etc.
I remember taking my young lad to a game in the Luggy era promotion season. A goal went in and it scared him silly. He ended up unsettled.

I called the missus and she came down to the Devonport end where a kind steward allowed me to hand him to her. I went back and enjoyed the game.

However as it turns out both my boys have become die hard fans and whilst they do watch top flight football would never be seen in a Liverpool, City or United shirt.

A price worth paying.

the capacity is already too small 12,000 for a 3rd division game v burton in october , Argyle must have so much money they can afford to turn away thousands of supporters all because they don't want a load of men sat next to the away supporters ridiculous.

Some of you queuemoaners are as bad as remoaners. Here’s a tip:-

Turn up a few minutes earlier.

On second thoughts - don’t bother. It’ll make it too busy when us sensible non-moaners arrive.
maybe some people have other things to do before they go to Argyle and maybe the club could open more turnstiles after all it's all about the CUSTOMER.

I said on another thread that a mate of mine wanted to come to the game yesterday, he's a football fan but not an Argyle fan and wanted to try it out, but when he went to buy a ticket near mine in the mayflower he couldn't, and he obviously didn't want to pay more to sit on his own elsewhere so he didn't come. There were 6 empty seats right next to me, and hundreds scattered elsewhere. Hopefully the club rectify whatever the issue is and he can come to the next game, or as you say, he probably won't bother.

I just don’t get all this. I come down from Exeter every game. Have to get parked, sort out my (non Dewdney/Ginsters) pasty. Wander up to the Lyndhurst turnstiles about 2.20. Go in, have a p, watch the warm up, go to my seat about 2.50. Watch the match. Simple.

Some people can’t even be arsed to walk along the concourse a bit further where they will find turnstiles with virtually no queue. Stewards tell them every week, but loads still don’t take any notice.

I suppose it’s the thought of that forty metre walk up the exterior concourse and then another forty metre walk back again to get to their seat. Of course it’s going to be congested at the very first set of turnstiles. FFS turn up a few minutes earlier and walk a bit further. If you don’t rock up until 2.45, expect it to be touch and go whether or not you see the kick off.

Moan about things that need moaning about, such as the Lower Mayflower fiasco. Acres of green seats, but sold out.

Have to agree with this. To me the going to the ‘football’ isn’t just the game. When I can I get to Roam tap house for a few beers and meet some travelling fans, like the very affable Sheffield Wednesday London branch recently 😉

I like to elongate the day as much as my circumstances allow. I can’t imagine rocking up with 15 minutes before kick off😬.

Possibly season ticket holders who couldn't make it. I wonder how many actually let the club know in advance so they can re-sell the seat, as per the club's standing request?

There were long queues at each of the turnstiles (the ones that were open) the length of the Lyndhurst at 2.30 yesterday.

Loving coverage at 3am in the morning on Argyle TV , but can someone please tell me why I am getting screen drop downs informing me of goals scored about 30 seconds before I see it.Probably an easy fix so please take it easy on this old fella.

Probably because it’s a stream, sometimes it’s a 2 minute lag on a stream

I used to leave the city centre at 2.20 via city bus, arrive at milehouse bus station walk up to ground have a pasty and pint and still be in my seat 10 mins before KO. However the buses no longer run as frequent as they did, yesterday I went to get the bus at 13.55, due to the amount of people waiting to get on it left nearly ten minutes late fully packed, it didnt stop at any other stops due to the bus being full of Arglye supporters which must be annoying for people actually waiting for a bus to get home, The next bus would of been even busier I think the reduced bus service is having an effect on people not being able to get to the game in plenty of time especially if like me they like to go to the pub to watch the 12.30 KO.
