And Wellens said he didn't touch him !! That is a Rugby tackle in the area. If Cooper did that to thir striker I think he would have been jumping up and down for a pen

I don't know if he touched him but that pic proves nothing. Stupid decision if he did as Agard was running away from goal. Perhaps Agard just used his 'experience '.

For their goal was it Scarr or Wilson on the line? Thought he could have cleared it.
Would've been one helluva clearance if he did, was practically on the line, if not behind it when he made contact with the ball and all his momentum was taking him forward, so very difficult to hook the ball back and out.

Definitely wasn't behind the line. He got there well before.

I was fairly in line with it and I felt Wilson probably could have/should have been able to hook the ball away, however he made up for it not long after with a goal saving header off the line, and overall he had a very good game.

Nope didn't see a board go up. He (Mr Kettle) seemed to feel sorry for them after giving the second pen so wanted to play on until they scored helped by some bizarre free kick decisions in their favour

Small mention for Gillesphie who came on and did well in his short cameo. Think he may have been involved in the move leading to the first penalty?

He has a very good cross on him for a CB, but I felt he looked iffy at the back.

Very interesting set of reports i was unable to go yesterday so watched the full match on player this morning. A few observations:

First half was a midfield duel that we shaded, and on another day would have comfortably led. Comfortably because I didn't feel Doncaster threatened.

Broom and Camara were kept quiet first half but after half-time, Grant and Broom swapped positions and Doncaster were initially thrown as to who should be marking who.

We should have had 2 pens but not necessarily the two we had. The first one given was soft, the second is a stupid decision by their goalie. The foul on Camara in the first half was a better shout.

Doncaster goal was largely against the flow but the guy should have done better with a chance slightly earlier.

Houghton and Edwards had good games as did Wilson. Scarr had his worst performance so far in a green shirt but he wasn't poor overall. Jeffers had a really good game. Broom and Camara, as has become the pattern in games since the Wednesday game, were kept out of it early on but came into the game more as it went on.

Garrick's cameo showed that he may have something up front. Sorry UTL but to me Gillesphie looked rusty.

Nervy game for us. A draw would not have flattered Doncaster even though we had a bit more industry in terms of shots on target.

The last three teams have tried to press us with Donnie probably the best of the three. Coops has had a wobble, but to combine with the thread about Championship and Premierships looking at him what will be key is how he learns and adapts. He has learnt a lot from last year in terms of commanding his area, so I am optimistic he will successfully met this.

Their keeper (big shout out to his parents naming him Pontus, which I’d thought of that for mine) liked to start an attack from our corners and crises, and we let him. He did it a couple of times, including goal. Why did not someone essentially stop In front of him, to try and slow down that move. It can be done without leading to a foul.

I note the swallows in block 5 have gone, presumably they have migrated south. Bon Voyage.

A few belated thoughts....

Not a great performance, but not a bad one;
Camara was less productive than usual. Maybe a game
too far these eight days ?
Houghton, Edwards, and in the second half Broom, had fine games;
unlike last season, the players don't appear to be sipping from
their hip flasks at half-time;
the commentator mentioned that the team is pretty much picking itself
at the moment (just like in the Waiters era), but actually the state of the
squad at the moment means there's not much scope for rotation. Tiredness
could become a problem;
the league table makes pleasant viewing;
bring on Crewe.

Forgot to mention, Pan does do exceedingly good celebrations. After the second penalty went in his sheer joy, exuberance and high five with those kids was top draw. Something they will remember.

I thought today’s attendance was pretty poor, 11000!
if they won’t come and support Argyle when we are doing very well goodness knows what the attendances will drop to when/if we hit a bad patch

11,003 to be exact but I agree, I expected 12k to 14k.

I suppose must take account of away support which was very few. Donny seemed delighted with 250 travelling fans but it didn’t look like even that many.

Gillesphie wasn’t on when we scored our first penalty (68 pen, 74 Gillesphie) but he definitely provided the cross that their keeper dropped leading to our second penalty.
