What was going on with letting their player take a throw from any position they wanted?! The full backs just wandered up the pitch with impunity.
After giving the second pen (both of which were cast iron and I'm unsure why neither were bookings) he then gave 3 or 4 free kicks to Donny for no apparent reason

Too fussy with throw-ins and free kicks, liked the bookings for holding, Donny will call him a homer, we were lucky.

It was a strange performance, good and bad.

He rightly stopped players moving forward when taking a throw-in but other times allowed them to do just that!

He played advantage and then stopped playing advantage.

But you can't complain after winning two penalties. 👍 7/10.

Trevor Kettle is inconsistent with a lot of his decisions. it has been mentioned in previous posts what he did, how he is still a referee i don't know. i gave him a 4 because of the 2 penalties.

Gave him 4. 1 for turning up, 3 for wearing green warm up kit.

How can a ref wave a player taking a throw in back, 3 or 4 times. The player just shrugs and takes it anyway and Kettle lets it go?? Undermining his own authority (if any) with his weak indecisiveness. Spoke to a Donny supporter after (told him where Charles Cross was so they could report having been mugged in Central Park.) He was scathing about Kettle, said he is always **** when reffing them!

Bizarre. Views on here range from 'worst' to 'best' with everything in between!

I can get a little 'knee jerk' with 'Rate The Ref' on a Saturday evening - usually due to a perceived ineptitude by a lot of, frankly, poor match officials. In the case of 'The Kettle', however, I thought he had a storming game! For me, he stamped his authority from the off on what is clearly his bug-bear - throw ins. How refreshing to see a ref insist (for the most part) on the throw being taken from where the ball crossed the line - and then reversing the throw when the culprit insisted on pinching a few more yards. Blimey - he even gave a foul throw reversal in the second half (against Argyle)! Recently I had genuinely thought that 'foul throws' had become extinct and that we were on our way in football to throwing the thing in underhand! ;) Good for you, Trev!

I also thought he was fair, consistent and correct on the vast majority of his other decisions and I would be more than happy to have him in charge of our matches on a weekly basis. I do, however, appreciate that other opinions are also available...

Wellens booted a water bottle into the crowd so probably got sent off for that (spotted by the 4th official)
One of their players damaged the perspex of the dug out as well. I noticed a steward taking a photo of it as well.
