I have watched the highlights, and i was replaying Hardies' goal over and over again,i couldn't get enough of it,the ball from Wilson to him,the pace Hardie had to get ahead of the defender, and the way he made the defender and the 'keeper look silly falling on their backsides, and the cool finish was just sublime, many more to come from him i am sure, class.

I’ve always liked Hardie but have often felt his finishing has let him down, that seems to have really changed this season, he looks a lot sharper.

Look at Wilson just before he received the ball. Already looking whose was available upfront for a ball in behind

19 goals in 46 starts is impressive or 19 goals from a total of 73 games.

Much like Camara Hardie seems a confidence type of player, with no fans in stadiums last season he suffered but this season with fans getting behind him he's delivered.

Same here Ron, I’ve watched it a bunch of times too. Something compelling about this particular goal. Feels like a Prem league type, that someone such as Salah would score. The time he took to dummy the defenders and calmly slot in, shows he’s got that ability to think clearly under pressure, which separates the great from the good In sport.

Interesting too, in his post match interview, he said he wasn’t aware of Luke, even though he was right next to him. He’s got that strikers single minded focus, technical skill and that clarity of thought in the moment. All the ingredients a top forward needs to succeed. Add in that he’s now getting more consistent service - as long as he stays injury free, anything is possible!

I know we shouldn’t get too ahead of ourselves but with this, the strength of the defence and some quality players still to return, it’s all looking pretty exciting right now

I have often thought that Argyle need to try long balls more often considering the pace we have in attack with Hardie (and also Ennis when fit). This sideways passing style can look pretty but isn’t always very effective. With pace, we can go long.

As for those saying that Hardie is too slim I disagree- that’s probably why he has good pace. I’ve seen great players with similar physiques at Home Park. Kevin Summerfield and Paul Gallagher spring to mind.

Great finish. Putting the keeper and defenders on their ass was cool and calm. If was a prem game goals like these would be talked about by all the commentators. However sadly mostly forgotten by anyone outside of argyle and our magnificent fans.

If it was a premiership game, it wouldn't have happened. Defender and goalkeeper mistakes are rarer in the Premiership than in League 1.

So he has never scored coming off the bench? That's one way of telling the boss that he needs to put you in the starting line-up.

All I’m saying is he would be even better if sturdy defenders didn’t put him on his backside so often. He doesn’t have to forego speed to be stronger. For instance, nobody put Mariner on his arse too often, but he was pretty quick.

But the quality of striker is much better in the prem. A league one striker puts a league one keeper and defender on their ass and cooley slots home. The finish is just as good irrespective of the level they all play at.
