If you check back I said in a two. The only system Lowe has, to date, ever wanted us to play.

Now he's talking about using other systems, finally. But it comes across as a pretty clumsy face-saving exercise in the context of his failure to land the striker we needed.

Meanwhile we're dropping important points at home because of it.

Lowe's 'relaxed' about that.

I'm not.
Lowe said the words ‘centre forward’ as to where Garrick could play. To me thats either the middle of a set of 3 forwards or a centre forward in a 2 man front pairing.

If Jordon Garricks strike had not hit the crossbar & infact had gone in against Fleetwood would there still be moans & groans about what happened on deadline day. RL has been open & transparent regarding what happened regarding approaches made & deals offered but some people are like a dog with a bone & will not let this go. We have the Free Agent market that we maybe delving into but because player recruitment is done with no leaks people assume management have decided to shut up shop till January. If RL can find a player who is the right fit & within budget then he will be an incoming. Garrick has only played a small cameo in one league game. Let's see what he can do in the time he is a green. We are only 5 games in & yet some people are quick to pass judgement on RLs decision making during the transfer window.

You appear to assume a great deal about Jordon Garrick and the various managers he has played under Justin , looking at his playing stats , centre forward appears to be his secondary position not just the odd throw of the dice from a desperate manager . He has also played at right wing ( his primary position ) 36 games , left wing 11 games , right midfield 2 games and right back , defensive midfield and attacking midfield 1 game each .
He appears to be a viable option to play at centre forward either as an in game change or as a starter when required and not a square peg in a round hole , which would appear to be the scenario you are suggesting .
Seems like he can play in almost every position. Perhaps he can go in goal too. The point is he is a winger. You could argue that most wingers could play as a striker but he is obviously very inexperienced in that role and does not fit what we were looking for i.e. a target man. But no need to worry. According to Cardiff Janner we have FIVE strikers including a kid with zero experience and a lad currently with one fit leg.

If he has such confidence in him as a centre forward why didn't he put him on for Jephcott or Hardie v Fleetwood and before the 80th min.?

If either striker was required to come off after Garrick entered the fray, who is to say that he wouldn't have replaced him up front? Lowe was obviously happy to keep both strikers on the field of play when he added Garrick.
Let's not make things up to suit your own opinions.

Yes his primary position is as a winger Balham , although as shown by his 20 games as a centre forward, including 7 in League 1 last season for Swindon , he can play as a centre forward and will probably be used in that position before January . We could definitely do with another striker at the club , preferably a strong , experienced one , but for now we don't have one , so if Jordon Garrick is needed up front then at least he has some experience of playing there . Come January we will know for sure if RL has made a big mistake in not adding another forward in the window , until then any judgements from us are based purely on speculation .

I don’t think this is pure speculation, We have needed a target center forward for a few seasons now and mr Lowe being that type of player, should in my opinion have realised that and acted long before now.

He did but, unfortunately, he got the wrong one in Frank Nouble.

I’m not Ryan Lowe but I’d guess that probably it was because Lowe thought it would better to have Garrick come on at RWB as Edwards hadn’t done much and also that Hardie and Jephcott have done well by scoring lots of goals already this season.

Some signings work out, some signings do not so you have to go back to the drawing board that is why RL has stated the signings have to be the right fit

Our ideas of a player that might be the right fit maybe wide of the mark where RL is concerned

We all know the transfer window is a politics or chess game- it is not as straight forward as going to a supermarket & doing your weekly shop

We have what we have until January unless a free agent walks through the door- no doubt in the background the management team are working on targets come the January window (but this information is not for public consumption)

We still have Niall to come back whats to say RL will be considering Niall & Jordon as a 2 as i doubt very much he would want to tinker with Jephs & Hotdog

I'm not suggesting that us needing a new centre forward is speculation , our manager has openly said he wanted one but failed to bring one in for whatever reasons , my point is about the speculation that posters are making about Garrick playing up front and how big a mistake RL has made , we will know for sure in the coming months.

Yes he deed in deed , makes my point more relevant because we still hav’nt got one. Mr Nouble got loaned out , and we still are in that position With out a proven experienced target man .

I’m not convinced that Lowe necessarily wants a target man in the form of Ryan Taylor etc. He seems to prefer smaller faster players. Whether Lowe is wise in that approach is another matter.

Actually Hardie came off and was replaced with Shirley so I haven't made things up at all. Lowe had more confidence in a young lad with zero experience at that level.
