Any concerns about the upcoming season?

I like to post this thread before a ball has been kicked each season.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and it’s very easy to say we should have done this and that when we’re in November.

So, how does everyone think we’ll do this season? Any concerns or anything you think will be better this season?

I believe we will have a MUCH better season. We have strengthened our defence dramatically and our midfield looks more balanced.
I am not predicting promotion but we will definitely not concede 80 goals and I am hopeful that, with less pressure on our defence, confidence will spread through to our strike force and we will finish in the top 10.
Adam Randell will become a strong fans’ favourite.

We appear to be mentally stronger with the seasoned pros we have brought in- there will be no more 2nd half malaise as these players know how to be in the zone week in week out for 90 plus minutes & appear not to lose their heads or get cheap bookings

With the new defence our creative players & strikers will hopefully not feel the burden of chasing numerous games just to get a draw

I am just excited to see if our goal scoring from corners & free kicks will reach double figures as last season it was totally non existent

I feel this new improved team will surprise the doubters & we will place just outside of the playoffs

my main observation is getting the ball to our forwards,if we can do this i think we will be promoted with niall ennis being top scorer.we have a much better defence and randell will play most matches.

A lot depends on our new defence. Everyone (me included) seems convinced they'll be an upgrade on last season, but we won't know for sure until they've been properly stress-tested in competitive league football.

If they live up to their billing then you'd have to think we'd improve our GA column by a dozen or so goals, which should be enough to give us a season of mid-table obscurity.

If Ryan Broom adds goals from midfield and our front three grab 10 or so each then we might flirt with the playoffs but that's definitely more in hope than expectation.

60+ points , fewer than 60 conceded ,closer to top than bottom and give some of the big clubs in the division a bloody nose , that'll do , no concerns from a happy Green tint .
Just waiting for the self appointed " more realistic " views to start flowing.

I don’t think we’ll finish too much higher than last season myself. I think the league is looking fairly strong this season with some good signings being made. My main concern is injuries in defence (Galloway and Wilson in particular). Keep a full squad and hopefully we’ll see an improvement this season!!

I am no green tint- i just feel the calibre of player we have recruited shows we are not going to be this seasons charity case

We are a different animal- the defence we have will not give away cheap goals- we now have the know how, guile, mental strength to be fully on it for the duration of the game - this was our undoing last season

Injuries are part & parcel of the game & all teams will get them but i feel as a team we will be better equipped for league 1

I'd be surprised if Galloway wasn't Gillesphey's bench warmer.

Without the collapse in form towards the end of last season we were comfortably top half. We have that experience under our belt now plus a much improved, experienced defence so I don't think a repeat of that capitulation is likely. As Mutley Marvel says, seasoned pro's will react very differently to the periods of adversity that are bound to happen during the season. I expect us to be much more consistent and we'll have a good idea of where we are at after about ten games. There are some very good sides in our league so competition for the play offs will be tough but I fancy us to sneak it and get promoted. If we don't, then at least I expect to enjoy our performances more than last season.

I think we'll have a better season. Biggest concern is where the goals are going to come from. Jephcott starts with low expectations, Hardie is yet to prove a consistent threat at this level, Ennis is good but far from prolific so far, last season's CM's rarely scored. Hopefully each area of the field will contribute a few more. Very happy to be proved wrong.

I think we will be pushing for the last play off spot. I think that Lowe has addressed the "soft centre" of last years side judging on the signings - we were too nice to play against - teams just waltzed through at will at times.

The calibre of players is better than last year. I think the players and the management learnt a lot from last season and I am quietly confident of a good season.

Do I detect a tint of green in your happy positive words Andy ?

My concern is whether we make it to the end of the season!!
