In which case why isn't the grandstand side of the stadium subject to the same security checks for the fans?

It's apparently a new security company so surely there would have been a meeting between the club and the security company where the security checks would have been agreed on.
Have the club been warned by the police or the EFL about previous security breaches where flares have been taken into Home Park, hence the new airport style checks, again why no checks on the grandstand side?

If this continues the club will need to warn fans to arrive very early for league games.
I am neither saying it is right, nor that I agree with it, just giving an opinion of the possible motives.
Why not the mayflower, if you were asked what part of the ground would be most likely to have pyro or laser pointers, which would you say? I personally would be surprised to see flairs used in the upper grandstand (except the ones worn on the lower body ofc)

Hi there,

The club monitors social media and select supporter forums to keep abreast of supporter opinions and experiences, but we cannot comment on every topic discussed by supporters - particularly those in which we do not possess the full information.

Indeed, if we opted to do so, it may stifle discussion.

We do our best to reach out and engage with supporters proactively.

However, for matters such as those discussed in this thread, we would encourage supporters to provide feedback to the club directly so that we can investigate.

For complete clarity, we have received a report on the above discussion, and we are investigating.

I welcome Argyle engaging directly on social media like this. And many aspects of communication and supporter liaison appear to have improved noticeably over the past 18 months, so I have no wish to bash the club.

But that response is poor, imho. It suggests Argyle do not have the full information about security searches being performed on their supporters (read paying customers) at the previous two home games. Why not? The security company is contracted to Argyle to provide a service, but the implication is that the club is unaware whether or not they are providing that service satisfactorily.

That's not acceptable. Is there no level of supervision or monitoring applied? Surely security searches of everyone entering the Lyndhurst cannot have been undertaken without the club's knowledge? Come on Argyle, you can do better than this.

Just the opinion of a long-standing supporter.

Also, the grandstand patrons would not likely be in possession of a laser pointer. An old battery operated torch would be more like it!

Okay a few years ago the company had a problem with somebody trying to put foreign items in their products. My manager at the time bought the wands so we could check the staff with nothing being allowed on the shop floor. Within a week the wands were withdrawn as he had checked and it was illegal for them to use them. Don't know situation with Argyle as they could say fair enough and refuse you access.

I think wands are fine. Far better than having to empty you pockets on a table.

I strolled in through a Lyndhurst turnstile yesterday without any check. So did my daughter. It’s either random checks or we just don’t look like guilty types. But then neither did the people I saw who were being checked.

I own a laser pointer too.

Didn't go yesterday but was at the Swansea game. When walking to the turnstile i thought whats going in here, everyone in front of us was wanded and searched, including parents. When i got there i put my arms out for a search but was instead asked to lower my arms, asked what me and my son had in our pockets, phones and wallets was the reply (i have more than 1 as i have work phones on me too) they then said ok and hurried us to the turnstile. I couldn't work out why everyone else in the long Lyndhurst queue was searched and we were hurried off. All rather bizarre really.

Security Checks: Is there any point in asking what I've got in my pocket?
A: Two depth charges, a nuclear fusion device, 6 grenades and a bottle of water.
Sorry sir, we're gonna have to take the top off that bottle of water!
