Enjoyed the game on Argyle TV, quite impressed with the new players. We need to put our chances away, Jephcott needs to step up. In the second half we gave the ball away too many times in very dangerous positions, this needs to be eradicated. Great to see so many young players being used, it won't do them any harm to get a few minutes on the pitch. Enjoyed Erin, although her voice was out of synch with the visuals, anyone else notice this?

Jesus sooo angry.šŸ™„

Tonight he looked the weaker player, he didn't have his best game and neither did he Tuesday. Others have shone.
You obviously don't know me as I am a DM fan. It's my opinion over the 2 X games I have seen at HP. I would respect your opinion but obviously you are too aggressive to earn respect.

I also bow to your professional knowledge of football it must be so good to be god likešŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Not just my opinion a few were saying it tonight. Will DM be key this season? Absolutely. Has he shone in the last 2 X games? Nope.

Enjoy your evening on the pedestal you have built yourself.šŸ‘
Totally agree-I am a DM fan and love watching his skill but he has been very average in the last 2 games and gave Swansea there goal by losing the ball in a dangerous area and gave the ball away tonight for there first goal-should pick his game up against league 1 opposition but as we all know needs a greater end product with either assists or goals and then he would be loved by ALL fans-letā€™s hope heā€™s just a little rusty and when he has a consistent left wing back to play with and build an understanding with then we should see the best of him

To be fair rsp4, without him we are stuffed.

You look at our wing backs. They simply donā€™t have the pace to get behind. Its so frustrating to be playing a system where our most creative player isnā€™t exploiting the space out wide but has to play in the most crowded area of the pitch.

The problem isnā€™t Mayor. Itā€™s where they play him. Tonight he picks on the ball a couple of times and he dribbled it brilliantly. They chop him down. We are still 40-45 yards from goal. Teams will be doing this all season once more to him and wont care because free kicks from that distance wont hurt them.

I enjoyed it, so good to be back in the ground.

Really surprised at how good Scarr was on the ball, I really like the look of him.

Houghton was another who caught my eye. Seems a real leader and very accomplished on the ball but faded in 2nd half.

Ennis hold up play, and that of Jephcott was generally neat and tidy but I think they could both win a lot more fouls with a bit more guile. Didn't offer a great deal in behind but there wasn't a great deal of space to exploit anyway.

Gillesphay isn't tall nor strong nor quick but has a left foot and was fairly comfortable on the ball.

We did look blunt at times and seemed to run out of ideas. I guess in this formation playing against one striker, your spare men when in possession are the centre half's. Getting them further forward overlapping the wing back, or driving forward into midfield with the ball may have opened things up a bit more.

All in all, I felt we looked okay. Middlesborough had some massive players who were also fairly quick and all of their team looked good on the ball. I'd be surprised if they are not top six come end of the season.

We are not even out of pre season & the DM debate has already started

Is he going to be this seasons scapegoat if it all goes wrong

Give the bloke a break we are 4 weeks into preseason yet some people jump on him as soon as he makes an error- he is one player in our team

Other players were sloppy in there play tonight but i see they are not being slated

I enjoyed that tonight. Defence looked more solid and less "flappy" when Boro attacked.
Ennis did well but I also think we still lack the presence of a strong forward.
I thought DM did well but a couple of sloppy passes put us in trouble although things will be different when the games mean something. I never read too much into friendlies.
Good to see so many of the youngsters come on and get a warm applause from the fans.

Wasn't that impressed with Boro but thought Ikpeazu looked decent and I think he could cause a few problems in the championship.

Bring on the league games!

People getting wound up because allegedly Danny Mayor getting stick. Why get so angry? It's a football forum discussing a pre season friendly, yet some getting so steamed up! Daft, because when you actually read the thread, no one's really giving him stick anyway! Chill out!

Went to the game tonight and we looked ok. RL is building stronger and a bit wise. Have to have some optimism. Bring on the new season

I thought we were excellent on the ball. Just lacked that cutting edge in the final third. I really liked the look of Gillesphey, and Houghton is worlds away from the young kid we had . He was superb.

I am concerned by Luke Jephcott. Just doesnā€™t look like the goal threat he used to be.

Iā€™ve been really encouraged by these two friendlies, despite the fact weā€™ve lost. We look a lot more solid and mature. I hope we can get a couple more incomings to really put us in a good position.

Yes. I'm glad someone else noticed. The sound was very slightly ahead of the pictures even in commentary but not so noticeable when you can't see the persons mouth as they speak.

Curious to know why you selected Torbay Green's post to reply to? His was a positive post, not angry. He mentioned that DM made a couple of errors...which he did but there was nothing in there that warranted a "chill out". No biggie...just curious as there are certainly more "angry" posts. (y) (y)

you canā€™t please everybody Andy šŸ˜Š

I thought DM played quite well and played several neat triangles in the Boro Half. I certainly wasnā€™t being critical of him.

Xmastree has maybe lost his baubles šŸ˜‚

Iā€™m a Danny Mayor fan but Iā€™ve hardly noticed him in the last two games. Almost like heā€™s saving himself. I canā€™t remember what he did last season the PSFā€™s so perhaps itā€™s just that he doesnā€™t give it is all in such games.

Pre season results are irrelevant it is what the players, manager & coaches get out of the games. Im pleased that RL picked 3 higher league opponents to pit our wits against

The 2 teams we have played so far have won on quality- we have only lost by the odd goal & we have not had the customary 2nd half capitulation

RL has had 4 weeks to get the new defensive unit in sync & i have been impressed with what i have seen - the midfield & forward areas are still a work in progress but you can see from the passages of play what the players are trying to achieve

RL will not change is methods & will take away the good & bad parts of Swansea & Boro & use what he has learnt to tweak whatever needs tweaking

Football is all about opinions but from what i have seen i am very optimistic about the new season & i am not a green tint :)
