Does anybody know the background to the naming of Parkway's ground please? THe name Bolitho is strongly connected with the Penzance area of Cornwall, where the family were the original main Directors of Barclays Bank and its forebearers in Cornwall.

The ground at what was the old RNEC Manadon, was named after Janie Bolitho, the late wife of the then Club Chairman and now Club President of Plymouth Parkway, Jim Parsons. Janie was born in Falmouth in 1950 and after a variety of careers - psychiatric nurse, debt collector, working for a tour operator, a book-maker's clerk - she became a full time writer, especially her series of eleven books involving Ian Roper and seven novels involving Rose Trevelyan. Janie was a great supporter and sponsor of Plymouth Parkway ; for a number of years her book titles graced the front of the teams shirts. Sadly Janie died of breast cancer in 2002.
