Got to laugh really. Connor is on a list of players that have played in Green that certain people said were rubbish or moaned about who went onto better things.
Bolasie
Puncheon
Barnes
Hourihane

Thats just 4 I am sure there are more.

Good luck Conor snd Barnsley keep that price rising

"Sky sources understand Aston Villa are keen to sign Barnsley midfielder Conor Hourihane.

Steve Bruce's side are one of a number interested in the Barnsley captain, whose contract expires in the summer.

He is expected to cost around £1m."

Fingers crossed...

We could be about to be screwed over. Villa are said to be close to signing Hourihane and James Bree. They could come up with a price that Barnsley are happy to lose both players for and then let Hourihane go on a free whilst Bree goes for an inflated price so that Barnsley see all of the money.

Cannot see them getting away with giving him a free transfer after rejecting 1.25 million from Sheffield Wednesday. Feel sure if Argyle took this to court they would win the case.

They could argue that they didn't want to sell to Sheffield Wednesday due to them being a geographical rival, but the player's contract was up at the end of the season, he'd had his head turned and wanted to leave so they let him go.

It cannot be easy for the FL to monitor the payment of 'add-ons' down the seasons. Is the onus on the FL to check, or, both the paying and receiving clubs to report to them the continuing transaction. Then, somebody needs to inform [in the subject possible transaction] Argyle that they are due a few more £s out of a transfer transaction contract that maybe crystallises albeit 5/6 years later. Then, presumably Argyle's CEO will need to monitor that he actually gets it!

And then monitor any additional payments as a result of add ons!

Barnsley seem to me to be more than happy to sell their best players for decent prices. First of all Stones to Everton and now Hourihane probably to Villa. Do they continually lose money that they need to sell to survive, or, are its' Board keen to cash in on assets for their own benefit?
