I don't think you're ever going to get an undivided fan base sharing the same opinion on every matter.

What a dull place that would be.

A key to the success of the PASB is can they distill all the assorted views & opinions into some kind of coherent policy?

David I agree with that wholeheartedly.

However, I would also say that equally, the holding the Board to account will add up for at least as much time as anything else and for many fans is the crux of the PASB. They all remember where we have come from only a year ago and see this as the main plank of the PASB.

I apologise in advance for culling your post:)

I am interested in the 2 quotes though. How do you see the fan base as divided now?

In whose interest would it be for the PASB to fail before it starts? (To be clear, I have similar reservations)

Tony, you only have to read stuff on this site and others to know the fan base is divided, also match day rubbish is spouted, he said this she said that. In the 30 years I have supported Argyle I have never known it to be this bad even in Big Dan's day's.

Just look at comments again Tony, why is it needed the snipping ect ect ect. I admire all the people that have put there name forward. There are people out there who just want James, the club and PASB to fail.

All the work Chris and David W has put into this it should not be allowed to fail.

As with David earlier, I can only agree with you 100%, as always I was just exploring ideas. But I would say, that Chris and David would wish it to succeed for the clubs and fans sake rather than their own. It is sometimes harder to find why people would wish it to fail when it has a fairly narrow remit.

But you know as well as I do, if the results on the pitch improve people come together, well, more easly:)

I am a Green+ member and I am led to believe that members only will be entitled to vote.

So, I am still very concerned that the PASB will become a clique and represent members only and not the entire fan base.

This is also where confusion will reign - there will be a lot of supporters, that are not internet savvy, who will become confused between the PASB and the Fans Trust.

How will the PASB communicate with the whole fan base or will they just communicate with the members? Will they set up their own website or will they become a not so independent organisation, using the mouthpiece of PAFC?

I have lots of doubts - the Herald pasty election, which was also a farce, seems to be have been better organised.

But Tony, the Trust holds the Board to account doesn't it?

You pose some serious questions. I will try to answer honestly, but you need to ask the club for contact details of others and also get their response. i suspect you may be a long time waiting:)

1. Personally, I wouldnt want to be a member of any clique that would have me:) I have said elesewhere I think the PASB should call regular open meetings where all members are expected to attend and face the fans. I think every PASB member should provide contact details which are op[enly displayed, weebsite, programme, public notices.

2. I think it is up to the PASB to ensure they have a seperate identity although there is a strong chance some people will be on both the PASB and thte Trust Board.

3. In part see 1 above, the operative word was "Open". As for the website, the first PASB will need to make that decision, although Id say its likely they will have an internet presence. But this must be matched by conventional means, like programme entry, flyers at the turnstyle, and engage with tthe local media.

4. You are not alone in having doubts, no shame there!

Good evening GreenKnowledge.

I'll try my best and as a candidate you may think Im being partial, but here goes.

The original concept was set out by James Brent at an open meeting at the Guildhall in January 2012, when amongst other things he introduced his new Board.

He explained he wanted to oversight of his Board by fans and fans groups and wanted it wider than just the Trust.

He asked Prof David Wheeler of Plymouth University an expert in Government and Governance to hold meetings and come to some way forward. In total, there were 3 meetings attended by an invited audience of Supporters Groups and interested individuals. From this DW reported to the Group and the Board his way forward. In essence, there were 2 conclusions, to hold the Board to account and to act as a conduit between fans and Board. There would be 12 seats; 6 would be from an open ballot (ballot papers went out today) and 6 would be nominees representing the supporters groups. In short, the Trust would have 6 seats, London Branch 1 seat, Exiles, 1 seat and Plymouth Branch 1 seat.

The supporters groups could nominate their representertives but to date none have been officially declared . The 6 open ballot candidates will be voted in by club members. Members as defined by those who have any kind of club membership from the basic £25 one to the most expensive, 1 vote each.

This is a brief outline of the past 9 months, if I have missed anything out please say.

You are correct GK, if you normally get to 15 home games you would be as well to get a new improved White membership (6 games) which or the first time gives you a discount and ticket preferential booking for big/away games. Of course, you can buy more thtan one White membership in any season if it suits you.

I have to warn that the membership information has already been sent to the Electoral Reform Society who are running the election so sadly you may miss out this season for voting, but you would still save money!

With over 4,000 members currently, they may not be big enough:)
