Good news, we'll have a board in place by the end of October.

Agreed Posty

Its been rather tortuous but at least the end is in sight. Although m,any have reservations I do believe this is such an exciting opportunity for fans to have a real input and hold the Board to account. Regular meetings and a chance to see the "whites of their eyes" is real progress if we, the fans, take the opportunity.

Sadly, I don't think I can make the 29th.

So no-one thought to ask the 9 candidates if they are actually available on the 29th?

You couldn't make it up!!

This is turning into a right cxxx up, although it is difficult to please all people you would think this meeting would have been suitable to all candidates.

I guess the club tried to accommodate everyone by arranging it for a match day at home.

I doubt that I am alone in receiving no communications about the PASB in quite some time.

The entire election should have been one organised process, which only started once it was ready to be run having been properly promoted along with adequate communication channels for candidates to be questioned by supporters.

One thing I can definitely say that I would like to do if elected to the PASB is to sort out the processes by which it is run.

To call this anything less than shambolic would be quite ridiculous and I find it quite shocking that all those who have attacked volunteers working in their spare time in order to benefit other supporters have not had the bottle to criticise an utterly flawed process that has the weight of a professional football club behind it.

Oh well, at least there will be plenty for people to do once elected. Unfortunately the process of working out how it will work and what its parameters will be is sure to detract from the important purpose of scrutinising the board. It's almost as if it would have been easier just to give this role to an already democratic and constituted body to begin with...

:iagree: Well said John, it amazes me that those who were so loud in attacking the volunteers who run The Trust seem to vanished into thin air, where are the 'super-fans' as others have called them, why are they so silent now, maybe they do not want to upset the originator ( The owner ) of this "shambolic PASB " as you correctly call it.

I have not posted on this subject for some time as I awaited news of it's Election and the process. But really what a mess it all is ! It's a good job our President is not involved and has left it to someone else to 'organise' as he would have certainly 'lost face' as my Thai friends would say. It does not say much for PAFC and the 'team' behind this PASB

So much criticism of The Trust but they will not condemn those ' experts ' behind this PASB fiasco. :sigh:

John, you are not alone, on this thread I have described it as torturous, elsewhere as shambolic.

To me although the Board wished to be seen to not interfere, the Acting (?) CEO should have been progress chasing and making public his activity to reasssure fans. As it is, it has been left to Chris Webb to oversee the process when, as we all know, he also has a demanding, full time job to fit in as well. There is a place for volunteers but on such an important plank of club infrastructure it has been left to chance.

And that is before the process of putting a constitution in place. It is a shame the lesson of Whitleyism have not been learned from the public sector.

We are now on track for an election for? How long? what will the term of office be? Will the club be prepared to meet an annual bill? Election every 2 years? 4 years?

I have a feeling that although I am a supporter of the concept the refusal by the Club to actively engage does not bode well for the future. A 2 track Board is fraught with difficulties and is surely not sustainable in the mid to long term?

It is clear Candidates have not been taken account of; we know now Jon can not attend the hustings. but similarly, I have a holiday booked and paid for in October on the basis the origiinal timescale was for the election to be completed by end of September. Never easy is it?:)

I for one can not attend the Hustings due to being on holiday I hope this does not damage my chances too badly. I do feel that information has been very slow however at this stage feel that this should go ahead so that something starts happening in this process. I wish all of the candidates the very best of luck.

Miles, not at all I it is not you fault you are unable to attend.

JonB is unable to attend, Tony C is away for some of the time.

Let's see what happens, you never know the date of the hustings may well change once these threads have been read.

The Wimbledon game a week later on 6th October may be a better option. Is everyone free then?
