Hi David

Sorry to jump in here, I have spoken to Chris and Peter Jones over the past couple of days to see where we are. In essence, the ERS are not to be rushed; they anticipate hearing early this coming week, Tuesday seems favourite and when they have heard fans will as soon as possible.

I appreciate its nothing specific, but Im on holiday in early October and said I had hoped it would be done before I left. A wink suggested it would be.

Or perhaps it was the sunshine:)

Sure, but it's a bit silly to refuse to vote for a PASB candidate because they haven't said anything on Pasoti before the election period has even started. We haven't even seen their candidate statements, which is what the vast majority of voters will base their decision upon.

Hi Tim

Quick couple of points

1. The election period started when an election was called, I think that was the point Lee was making. It at least started when nominations were closed and candidates announced.

2. The candidates statements will be seen when votes receive their ballot forms, unless they wish to declare earlier.

3. As you are not a candidate you can relax:)

Tony

Your concern for my electoral welfare is appreciated.

But like the old sales mantra, you have to do things consistently and persistently and that is what I will do until the election is complete.

Good catching up Saturday, albeit, briefly.

We haven't quite been at it as long as the papal election from November 1268 to September 1, 1271, following the death of Pope Clement IV.

But it does make interesting reading and there are some definite similarities.

Superb.

They probably got more votes in that one than this one will get too.

A sham of a mockery of a sham and a sledge hammer to crack a walnut.

Just let all the candidates sit on the board and see how it goes - what difference does 3 extra people really make?

Tony, I reckon you'll have come back from holiday & we will still be waiting for something to happen.

Haha, I did feel that was a possibility.

Heard on Tuesday that the process had been returned to the ERS as agreed, so fingers crossed we are now about to get underway.

Thanks for that Tony.

I appreciate that this process is becoming protracted in the extreme but on 23rd August (two weeks ago) Mr President advised us:

"Candidate details and election statements have been sent across to the ERS and we are in the process of supplying the membership (voting) database as well.

Following the receipt of this information, the ERS will be looking to set a formal timetable for election.

Initial indications are that the voting period (via post) will open in early September and close at the end of the same month."

Seems we're no further forward than we were two weeks ago.

In the normal course of events I would contact the CEO, but I believe he is probably weighed down with "shirt" business!
