Still no word from the mystery six.

Tony - has there been any indication of when the voting papers and associated blurb will be issued?

Hi David

Honest answer is No. Originally, Im led to believe, the voting papers were to be sent out on the 1st September, the same day as the proposed hustings.

I spoke to Chris earlier this week and things arent finalised with the Electoral Reform Society although he was hopeful for yesterday, hence he was going to issue a Presidents Progress, which sadly didnt come, hence more delays with ERRS Im guessing.

Im afraid we as candidates are in a state of limbo, and must press on and get the message out. Im not sure about the other 6 candidates.

As a small aside I am attending a meeting of PASTA tonight when we will decide how to select a candidate with other supporters groups, Sometimes there a feeling on here that things are sterile regarding the PASB. That is certainly not the case for myself or PASTA, this will be our second meeting concerning the PASB and we sent ta delegate to the Supporters Clubs meeting in Plymouth.

Ofcourse, you know what will happen as soon as I hit "Enter" Chris will also do likewiise with his latest PP, but thats the luck of the draw:)

Hi Tony

Thanks for that.

Good to see PASTA are pressing ahead with the supporters group side of things.

We (Plymouth Branch) have a committee meeting next Thursday when hopefully we shall do the same.

The Campaign are delighted to announce that TinTin has agreed to become our first Ambassador and his Embassy will be the The Bay Window, Britannia Inn, Milehouse. The Embassy will be open when he is present, which is a lot of the time:) He will have stocks of our flyers and Campaign News and will happily hand these out following his inaguration tomorrow. In what promises to be an emotional ceremony he will receive his letters patent at approximately 12.15. All are welcome and he wont refuse a Carlsberg:)

Sean

Thanks for that, it really does help and give a lift when at times spirits flag.

Tomorrow, is another busy day, I will be at the Milehouse depot to chat to some fans, then on to the Britannia to officially swear in my new Ambassador, Tin Tin.

Then off to the Fan Fest, Far Post Club before taking my seat for the game. In fact, a fairly normal Saturday:) But I will always find time to chat to mates on my way.

Thanks for your support and offers of help, I may well need both the closer we get to the finishing line.

If you would like to recive email copies of Campaign News as many do now, please drop your email address via a pm or to tonycholwell@hotmail.com

I hope we can now get down to what the PASB is for.

The primary aim of the PASB for me has always been the holding to acount of the Board. That shoul;d not be ein doubt as it was the main plank of the Guildhall speech.

The secondary, but equally important function should be the conduit between the fans and the Board and vice versa.

Both aims are to a certain extent simple, although the devil will always be in the detail. However, if people approach the role with pragamatic goodwill the body can be forged into an effective team and a win win for fans.

Why are the PASB going to be so effective at holding the board to account when its the board who control what they have access to? Its a talking shop aimed at neutralinsing the trust (the real voice of the fans) and replacing it with something the club has more control over.

1. I can see you are not used to negoiating Womble otherwise you would understand what is possible.

2. Its not aimed at neutralising the Trust, it has the full support of the Trust!

3. The Club will have no control over how the PASB goes about its business or its composition.

The success of the PASB will very much depend on those elected, whether they can build up a trusting relationship with the supporters they represent and whether they are effective in their duties - not just yes men wanting to cosy up to the management.

They will also need to be able to communicate back to the whole fan base, in a timely manner, be honest and above board and not accept any sort of favour or gratuity from the management, that is not available to the ordinary supporter.

Spot on. Let's hope those that have been brave (or foolhardy) enough to stand for election will be able to deliver.

Yep, i couldn't argue with any of that.

Rod, your first paragraph is akin to what I have been saying anyway.

The second, is an mportant addition that really should be taken as read, but, in these days it is always good to reinforce and spell out.

The general public have lost faith in bankers, politicians, fat cats (including Leaders of Unions) and those in power who avoid tax. The 'what's in it for me' attitude should be stamped out. However, I'm sure the candidates for the PASB have impecible credentials and will represent us to the best of their ability. I'm looking forward to reading their statements.

Ambassador TinTin is pleased to announce that he will be holding court in "The Bay Window" of the Britannia Consulate from 12.00 onwards this Saturday.

Please do NOT confuse this venue with The Embassy across the road where he is sometimes seen :funny:

Keep the Faith :scarf:
