A thread to ask Tony a question and for Tony to attract some voters!

If any other PASB election candidate would like a Pasoti Q&A thread please let us know.

Hi Tony

If elected will you push for financial transparency from the Argyle statutory board of directors, an early look at the club accounts for example?
In my view the PASB will only work if the statutory board are open and honest with the trusted members of the PASB.

I trust JB but the point of the PASB is to keep a watchful eye on the financial dealings at Home Park.

You are correct about holding the Board to account Posty and the need for transparency. To date we have not had an indication from the Board what they are prepared to give the PASB and on what terms. However, if it is to mean anything the PASB must push for an open door approach to the clubs finances otherwise it will not know if we are on budget, over or under, we will not know if the "business plan" for any venture is feasible or not and we will not know if we are hitting the 55%, under or over of wages to turnover.

JB must have understood that this would be required when he came up with the PASB so will not be a shock when it is requested. Too early to prejudge his likely response although he is at liberty to read our comments here, so perhaps I have said just about enough:)

I have to say from the outset, this board is for the PASB and is not about the Trust.

Saying that the Trust are likely to be the dominant group, in fact only group, on the PASB and so Im happy to answer your question.

I have said this many times before, but I genuinely like the individual members of the Trust Board. I ought to say over half my nominees are Trust members including Board member John Petrie who I have a lot of time for and respect. So, some would wish me to be painted as the anti Christ on this relationship will be off beam.

But as presently constituted I think its a bit of a curates egg. It is clearly suffering the hangover from the end of the administration period. It is searching for a role and I dont think it is quite there. I do think, for whatever its worth, that having a collective leadership went out with Chairman Mao and they have suffered a sense of drift, in part, because of that.

I have wide experience of working on "committees" like the PASB and have always fitted in although not always being mainstream I am a team player.

I hope that helps Greenie.

Tony

How many votes do you feel need to be cast in the forthcoming elections in order for the PASB board in order to give the board some letitimacy and to claim a mandate amongst the fans?

Firstly apologies for delay in answering , but I have been away most of this week and today been in Plymouth.

To answer your question I am not a clairvoyant and so can't predict. However, because voters have up to 6 votes each its not such a straightforward question to answer. personally, I hope as many as possible are energised to vote and think it will be worthwhile. But that is up to the candidates to enthuse them.

To be legitimate? Well, the simple answer is one. Do I expect only one voter? No ofcourse not. I believe if the candidates do their bit when the voting slips come through your front door most people will vote based on what they read and who appeals to them. Same as any election.

I dont think a specific number leads to legitimacy, I think actions do.

Hi Tony

First I've heard of the 6 votes per voter - how is this going to work?

6 crosses in 6 boxes I'm guessing David. I dont mean to be flippant, but thats how I see it. As with other aspects, it may change, as far s I am aware there is still no final word from the Electoral Reform Society.

This is quite common in othjer multi seat elections and I have seen or heard nothing to suggest it will be different twith the PASB. Which is good as it makes sense and is easy.

Sorry Tony my question yesterday wasn't very well worded.

I had assumed that it would be one member one vote but giving everyone 6 votes could in my opinion lead to a particular group "encouraging" votes for it's preferred candidates leaving independents like yourself out in the cold.

This isn't a pop at the Trust as I'm a member, just seems to go against fairness.

And after claiming 3 of the 6 supporters groups seats (having been persuaded down from their initial claim for four seats) if they win all 6 members seats the PASB maybe starts to look a bit pointless?

David, your point is well made.

However, because there are 6 slots from a list of 10 it would be usual to give all voters up to 6 votes. Saying that the electoral rules have yet to be published or confirmation that the ERS will run it, or when it will be, so we will all have to wait and see.

Hopefuly more news from the President shortly.

Still no word from the mystery six.

Tony - has there been any indication of when the voting papers and associated blurb will be issued?
