Just been sent details of the menu for anyone taking the Pompey Corporate option tomorrow, interesting selection of some of the choices of food and drink...
Big Chips - A local speciality.
Bashed Skate - Known by outsiders as the main meal, but rejected locally over the years with little regard of its benefits.
Crab Surprise - Popular after a Weekend and not what you'd have expected.
Nearly Pie and Mash - Poor imitation of Cockney fare, betrays it's Hampshire roots. Bit plasticy.
PFK - Seriously big food, a real trouser stretcher.
Old Mans Sideys - Bit dated but popular, imagine Tapas, lots of little stuff but nothing of substance.
Sour Grapes - Best savoured after the main course.
Nelson Slice - Old Southsea recipe, very sharp with a bitter aftertaste.
Pompey Draft - Not the most sought after, doesn't travel well.
Pompey Wine - Based on an old recipe, classic, just goes on and on and on. Lacks appreciation by some.
Just a taster, apparently the larder is full.
