Chris has asked me to post the following release that we have sent to the Administrator just now.

Statement, 29th July 2011

The ISC of the Argyle Fans' Trust notes with concern media reports that the Sale and Purchase (SAP) agreement could now be extended until the end of the month (August).

The Administrator has previously committed in writing to the Argyle Fans' Trust that the SAP agreement was due for completion on August 5th.

This latest development raises further concerns around the future of Plymouth Argyle and would see the already prolonged period of uncertainty extended for Players, Staff and Supporters.

We call on the Administrator to confirm (a) if the SAP agreement has been extended until the end of August (b) if it has been extended, to detail the reasoning behind this and (c) confirm that the monies needed to complete the purchase (we understand to be in the regions of £4.5m) are now being held in escrow by solicitors.

We can also confirm that the Rescue Plan committee will hold its next meeting on Monday 1st August. James Brent has confirmed his attendance.

END

Obviously news of the players getting contracts was the calm before the storm.

Probably yes - there are some home games in August, plus proceeds from the shirt sponsorship deal, and a little season ticket money.

Hand to mouth stuff, though.

Still, as long as Brenda and David hang on for Riddler to find someone else, eh?

Doesn't the exclusivity period end on 5th/12th August? Surely Guilfoyle is legally/duty bound to listen to the Rescue Plan bid if the deal with the Preferred Heaney is not completed by those dates?

Or the current Sale and Purchase agreement is now void and the Preferred Heaney will have to stump up more funding if he/they still want exclusivity?
