I can't be the only one getting incredibly frustrated by our lack of width. I'd love to see some heat maps of our players and where they've spent most of their time, because Sawyer and Miller aside, I'd be shocked to see (m)any between the 18 yard box and the touch line.

With the pace in our squad is it really that difficult to have two men hug the touchline and stretch the play? From an offensive point of view, we may get a cross or two into the box and from a defensive point of view, Sawyer and Miller may get some help!

Agreed.

As I said in another thread, I just don't get at all why we play such a narrow game. We have recognized wingers in our squad and we play this slow, labored, dour football through the middle.

As many have said, it was effective in L2 (just about) but now we're so predictable. I'm still in the give it more time camp, but relegation straight back down would be devastating for the club.

Back up keepers that aren't good enough to cover current injured keeper

Defensive midfielder makeshift CB preferred over an out and out CB

Central players played out wide, wide players left on the bench

CF who can't get a shot on target staring every game

Slowest fullback pairing in the league playing wingback

2 too similar central midfielders offering nothing going forward

Midfielders who can't create

Defenders who can't defend

Strikers who can't score goals

Manager who has to start a game then change tactics to deal with early pressure every game

Players that look frustrated

Players sent off consecutively on matches

Denial

Excuses

No entertainment

No drive

No pleasure.

In three of our nine League games, tactical substitions have been made at half time. These games were all where we had 11 players on the pitch at tve end of the first half.

Sokolik? Why has he fallen from favour? Will he get a start at Wigan?

Time for a major rethink by the management to avoid a one season stay in this division.

Agree we have no width and we haven't for a while now. Ainsworth came on and gave us a bit of width I thought, he had that good counter-attacking run didn't he? On the left we didn't really have anything though. I think the best player for width would be Wylde, although Lamerias did ok he is just a bit lightweight and cut inside and didn't give us width.

OK, but putting all that aside how did we do yesterday.

In two of the three games I've seen at Home Park this season, our width has been pretty good with Grant and Jervis. Grant has been the best player I've seen overall this year in those games, and I really didn't understand not selecting or at least bringing him on yesterday. He's an ideal wide player who linked up very well with Sawyer.

One of many baffling decisions yesterday.

If you're going to play with one smallish guy up front why persist with the hopeful (hopeless?) lump forward which he has little chance of winning.

Then having decided on wingers why bring two on and stick with the smallish guy who still isn't likely to win much in the air.

Why not bring on one winger & Blissett up front to win the knockdowns for the smallish guy?

I must add that I've never managed a professional football club so I have no clue about any of this tactics stuff.

Welcome to Argyle, the theatre of greens.

Apart from that everything is ok. No issues then really.

Agree 100% with this and sums up our season so far.

Double training and 6 days working well.

Only 3 people to blame
