Come to the Garden - Dedication Ceremony

ON Thursday, September 28, we will be holding a short ceremony to dedicate the Argyle Memorial Garden.

The garden is located just inside Gate 26 (opposite main reception) and has long been a part of the plans for the new Grandstand development. As time has passed, we felt it important to create this garden now and later incorporate it into the new development.

Manager Derek Adams will attend the dedication ceremony, which is being led by club chaplain Arthur Goode and which starts at 1pm, along with some players and staff.

We would love you to be part of it, too.

The construction of the garden has been a real team effort: the Green Taverners provided woodwork and bricks; the club supplied plants and paint; Martin and Sons, Monumental Masons, donated the plaque; and the work was carried out by Dorset, Devon and Cornwall Community Rehabilitation Company, operating as Working Links.

Some of the soil from the old Home Park pitch, which has been in storage at Harper's Park, will be added to the garden in the ceremony to honour people whose ashes had been scattered or interred there.
