notwithstanding what IJN has posted earlier, there is still a substantial wedge of money currently sitting in Argyle's bank account. Whether this goes towards player recruitment, who knows, but the likes of Watkins ansd Wheeler should be on DA's radar if we are looking to improve next season...
Who is paying for the improvements to Harpers Park?

Tbh we should feel more confident thus season as we have a backbone of a side whereas last season he ripped it apart

Spot on mate! This time last season, we hardly had a side!

I can't see us spending money on players for a good few years yet. Not many clubs do in L1 and L2 nowadays and those that do, are generally taking a massive gamble. Our club, I would have thought, have learned harsh lessons on that score.

I expect DA to bring in...

1 x Goalkeeper
1 x Left Back
1 x Centre Back
1 x Holding Midfielder
1 x Creative/Offensive Midfielder
1 x Winger (in addition to Ainsworth)
2 x Strikers

It also depends on where he see Threlkeld playing this season. If he sees him as a midfielder, then DA will be looking at the right back spot also.

-------------------------------McCORMICK------------------------------

THRELKELD-------AN OTHER---------BRADLEY-----------AN OTHER

-----------------------AN OTHER-----------FOX------------------------

AINSWORTH--------------CAREY/SARCEVIC---------------AN OTHER

---------------------------TAYLOR/AN OTHER-------------------------

There seems to be a consensus on what was needed. Softly softly..

1 x Goalkeeper - needed
1 x Left Back - needed
1 x Centre Back - needed
1 x Holding Midfielder - needed
1 x Creative/Offensive Midfielder - Lameiras
2 x Winger - Ainsworth, 1 needed
2 x Strikers - needed

To continue the echo chamber.. :)

1 x Goalkeeper - needed
1 x Left Back - needed
1 x Centre Back - Edwards
1 x Holding Midfielder - Ness
1 x Creative/Offensive Midfielder - Lameiras
2 x Winger - Ainsworth, Grant
2 x Strikers - needed, though I think Fletcher might get a look in.

Still no sign of a prolific goal scorer/poacher. All well and good providing the service but who is going to put the ball in the net. Before anybody says we did ok last year, we relied heavily on Carey and IF he goes we could well struggle in a higher division. Surely the signing of a decent striker is a priority.

Strikers that fill your requirement cost money, lots of money.

I cannot see us affording one of those.

Club suggested there might be 2/3 Loan signings again which tend to be later in the window. A goal scorer is much needed and the loan option might be the way to go as a more affordable option.

How many goals did our strikers (Jimmy Spencer, Arnie Garita, Ryan Taylor, David Goodwillie) score last season?

We got the (joint) most points in the division with a strike force that scored about 10 goals between them.

Largely due to goals scored or made by Graham Carey.
Take his influence away and its not looking clever at that end of the pitch.

True that, but Carey is not a striker.

Therefore the idea that we need to splash big bucks on a heavy scorer to get where we want to be = flawed logic
