European Football Championships - "Don't go because there is likely to be terrible violence in Ukraine"

Result -No problems in fact those that travelled enjoyed themselves. Many too scared to go though.

Olympics - "There will be terrible travel problems and as for the immigration control it will be awful"

Result - No problems on either front.

I would say I question everything that is written in the press anyway but these were impressions given by the BBC .

The bet-hedging began after the Michael Fish "hurricane" fiasco. These days all perspectives must be viewed from the "worse case scenario". Arse covering innit.

Always the same with the media, when the regular 'flu epidemics happen the range of possible cases predicred is often X000 to X00,000s and which number do the media go with. That's if some aren't declaring it the end of the human race!

Yes,. 3 years ago it was swine flu... millions would die apparently. The year before that, bird flu... millions would die and the result was a seagul in the Orkneys had a spot of flu.

I had bird flu as it happens. Lost my ability to parallel park and had an insatiable desire to buy shoes.

And are you still emotionally unstable and unable to accept that on some occassions you may in fact be incorrect?!
